Request for assistance with Robert F. Turner article

[edit]

Hello,

I’m seeking neutral assistance with the article on Robert F. Turner.

I have disclosed on the article’s Talk page that I know the subject personally and have stepped back from editing the article directly due to COI guidelines. The article has been tagged for some time with two issues:

  • Written like a résumé (May 2022)
  • Possible close connection with the subject (November 2017)

The article is currently very list-heavy and reads more like a CV than an encyclopedia entry. I believe it would benefit from a more neutral, encyclopedic tone and better use of independent sources.

If any experienced editors have time to take a look and offer suggestions (or make improvements), it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you, Txantimedia Txantimedia (talk) 01:11, 22 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

Request for Independent Assessment: Amir Paz-Fuchs

[edit]

Dear Editors, Hello, I am Amir Paz-Fuchs and therefore have an obvious conflict of interest concerning any possible article about me. With that in mind, I am not asking to create or publish an article directly. Instead, I would be grateful if an uninvolved editor could offer an independent view on whether avialable evidence exists, and is sufficient, for an academic biography, and whether it would be possible to review a concise source dossier or prepare a neutral draft. The potential basis for this request includes: 1. A two year term as Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Comparative Labour Law and Industrial Relations, following one year as Deputy Editor; 2. Two research monographs published by Oxford University Press (the most recent in 2026); two edited collections; the first ever textbook on Clinical Legal Education (co-authored), also published by Oxford University Press in 2026; and a wider body of research on labour law, social justice, welfare conditionality, modern slavery, unfree labour and privatisation (on the latter - co-edited two additional volumes). 3. Professional coverage, including a Law Society Gazette profile. 4. Service as Head of Sussex Law School (now in the fourth year); Professor of Law and Social Justice; and appointment as Head of the University of Manchester School of Law (starting 1st September 2026). 5. Founding Director of Sussex Clinical Legal Education, and within it the Citizens Advice Project, which won the national Advice Project of the Year Award. 6. Membership of the Board of the Socio-Legal Studies Association and past Director of Citizens Advice in West Sussex. I would be happy to provide independent secondary sources from university , publisher and official sources to verify the above and beyond. I fully understand that the article cannot be guaranteed to be pubished and that any decision concerning notability , content or publication will be made independently. I therefore thank you in advance for your time in considering this request.

Amir Paz-Fuchs Amirpazfuchs (talk) 09:47, 23 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

@Amirpazfuchs: I'd say you pass NPROF criteria 8 as editor-in-chief of the International Journal of Comparative Labor Law and Industrial Relations - I personally would like more biographical secondary sources, though - lmk. Jishara (please ping upon response) (talk) 01:51, 6 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
Thank you, and apologies for the delay. That is very helpful.
I appreciate the distinction between meeting NPROF criterion 8 and having sufficient independent biographical sourcing for a well-rounded article.
I will look more systematically for such sources and, given my conflict of interest, would plan to prepare a fully disclosed draft through Articles for Creation rather than publish directly. Amirpazfuchs (talk) 13:50, 6 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
Following up on my reply above, I have identified the sources below. I have tried to distinguish independent secondary coverage from institutional or primary sources that merely verify particular appointments and activities. I appreciate that some of the independent coverage is focused on particular aspects of my work rather than providing a comprehensive biography:
1. Independent secondary sources:
a. Law Society Gazette, “My legal life: Amir Paz-Fuchs, University of Sussex” (2024) [https://www.lawgazette.co.uk/my-legal-life/my-legal-life-amir-paz-fuchs-university-of-sussex/5118390.article Profile] covering my career, legal education and decision to undertake the SQE.
b. Joel F. Handler, review of Welfare to Work: Conditional Rights in Social Policy, European Review of Contract Law 5(1) (2009)[https://www.degruyterbrill.com/document/doi/10.1515/ERCL.2009.60/html Review]
devoted to my first monograph and its scholarly contribution
c. Article noting my role in establishing Sussex Clinical Legal Education and that the programme subsequently won the Citizens Advice Award for Advice Project of the Year. https://www.sussex.ac.uk/broadcast/read/46413
d. The Badger, “The University of Sussex has launched a pro bono legal clinic for performing arts charities” (2021) Article discussing my role in establishing the Performing Arts Law Clinic in partnership with Covington & Burling
f. Trustee and Company Director of Citizens Advice in West Sussex, 2022-2024.
2. Institutional and primary sources for verification:
a. International Journal of Comparative Labour Law and Industrial Relations https://kluwerlawonline.com/Journals/International+Journal+of+Comparative+Labour+Law+and+Industrial+Relations/672 confirming my role as Editor-in Chief.
b. Citizens Advice in West Sussex, Annual Report 2024-25.
https://www.advicewestsussex.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/CAWS-Annual-Report-24-25.pdf. Confirming my service as trustee and company director.
c. University of Manchester
https://www.manchester.ac.uk/about/news/new-head-of-lawappointedat-the-university-of-manchester/ confirming my appointment as Head of Law.
d. University of Sussex Law Profile.
https://profiles.sussex.ac.uk/p327503-amir-paz-fuchs. Confirming my previous role as Head of Law School and other academic appointments.
d. Centre for Dialogue and Global Affairs.
https://cdga.org.uk/people/amir-paz-fuchs/. Confirming my role as a Fellow of the think tanks.
3. Recent books and scholarly output
a. Katie Bales and Amir Paz-Fuchs, Underpaid and Unrecognised: State-Induced Unfree Labour (Oxford University Press, 2026) https://global.oup.com/academic/product/underpaid-and-unrecognized-9780197910436
A co-authored monograph in the Oxford Labour Law series examining forms of labour coercion created or facilitated by the state.
b. Jacqueline Kinghan, Amir Paz-Fuchs and Lucy Yeatman, Clinical Legal Education: Theory and Practice (Oxford University Press, 2026)https://global.oup.com/ukhe/product/clinical-legal-education-9780198878407?cc=gb&lang=en& A comprehensive textbook bringing together the theory and practice of clinical legal education.
These publisher pages are included to verify the books’ publication and subject matter, rather than as independent evidence of reception. Both books were published recently, and reviews have been commissioned and are forthcoming.
4. Examples of the use of my scholarship in existing Wikipedia articles:
I realise that Wikipedia cannot serve as independent sourcing for a biography. I include these only as possible pointers towards work that has received wider uptake:
a. "Slavery in the 21st Century" citing "Badges of Modern Slavery"
b. "Workfare" citing "Workfare's persistent philosophical and legal issues"
c. "Workfare in the United Kingdom" citing "Workfare Revisited"
d. "Selective Conscientious Objection" citing “The Fallacies of Objections to Selective Conscientious Objection”, co-authored with Michael Sfard
e. Forstater v Centre for Global Development citing "Principles into Practice"
Given my conflict of interest, I would not create a live article directly. I would be grateful for any view on whether this provides enough material for a neutral draft through Articles for Creation, or whether substantially more independent biographical coverage would still be needed. Amirpazfuchs (talk) 15:13, 6 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
I think if you'd like you might be in an okay position to draft your article - I don't see much substantial coverage of you directly (mostly institutions you're a part of covering you or an article written by you, neither of which count as SigCov) but there's a fair chance you pass NPROF criterion 8 which would get you through notability anyway. I'd recommend trying drafting (and of course disclosing your conflict of interest there as well), and then seeing what your Articles for Creation Reviewer thinks. But please remember to not include any original research - just because you know something happened to you or you did something doesn't mean it can be included unless it can be backed up with a source.
Also, for clarity, did you use an LLM to write this comment? I'm asking because I checked a few of the articles that seemed most potential, and the links, when followed, end in utm_source=chatgpt.com. Also because you put in a redlink to Selective Conscientious Objection instead of the bluelink to Selective conscientious objection. If so, I'd just want to make sure you know that LLM-generated text is not allowed on Wikipedia and is enough to immediately decline an article with it regardless of your notability. For clarity on this, please check WP:LLM. don't use LLMs for your drafting, writing, or editing at all.
Also, LLMs are known to hallucinate references and their importance - please be mindful of that and make sure you've found all of the references you're using and have checked them yourself for their importance, relevance, substantial coverage of you, et cetera. I have not personally checked all these articles for their substantial coverage of you, only the few that looked the most promising (and they didn't turn out to be sigcov) - so please make sure you personally check all of them and evaluate every source you use to make sure it includes the claims you use it for. Jishara (please ping upon response) (talk) 13:52, 7 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
Dear Jishara,
Thank you for this reply. To clarify - I wrote the first draft on my own but did indeed use ChatGPT to help organise and format the comment and source list. I had incorporated the underlying source materials but sometimes used ChatGPT as a form of Googling. I had not realised that the links had retained the ChatGPT tracking suffix, or that Wikipedia's LLM policy extended to this use. Thank you for pointing it out. I have now read the WP:LLM page you referred to and will not use an LLM at all to draft or rewrite any article content. Needless to say, I will personally verify each source and make sure that every factual claim in the draft is directly supported. Thank you again for the guidance. Amirpazfuchs (talk) 16:12, 9 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
No problem. Be careful with your draft, and I wish you good luck. Jishara (please ping upon response) (talk) 02:12, 10 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

Pending COI edit request on Kevin Sucher — review welcome

[edit]

Hi all — there's a pending {{Request edit}} on Talk:Kevin Sucher that's been in the queue for about three weeks (posted July 22, 2026). I'm the subject of the article and disclosed my conflict of interest there per WP:COI, so I can't action it myself.

The request covers several sourced additions (a band residency extension, a docuseries appearance, a new production launch) plus two citation upgrades and a dead-link flag on an existing reference — nothing contentious, all cited to independent sources (Las Vegas Review-Journal, Grammy.com, Best of Las Vegas). Given the current backlog on the requested-edits queue (663+ requests as of this week), I wanted to flag it here in case someone active in this WikiProject has a few minutes to take a look.

Thanks for your time — no rush, just didn't want it to get lost in the queue.

Article taken from the artist’s personal website; there are no secondary sources of at least national significance confirming that the artist is well-known

Requested input at Akhil Reed Amar

[edit]

There is an ongoing discussion at Talk:Akhil Reed Amar#2026 changes concerning a substantial expansion of the article's coverage of Amar's legal scholarship. Editors have raised questions concerning sourcing, OR/SYNTH, due weight, length, and whether problems with particular passages are better addressed through targeted editing or removal of the larger section. Additional uninvolved editorial input would be very welcome. Please feel free to comment regardless of your view on the proposed material. Editors interested in directly improving, sourcing, or condensing the disputed material would also be very welcome. Disputed revision before the latest revert Thanks in advance! RfC regarding German nobiliary titles

[edit]

I request comments at Wikipedia:Village_pump_(proposals)#RfC_regarding_German_nobiliary_titles: Should German nobiliary titles inside names be clarified with the footnote text provided by {{German title}} or with the template User:Joe vom Titan/German title hatnote or another way? Feel free to suggest changes to either template, regarding the text or the template parameters. If it is to be a footnote, there's also the question whether to place it right after the title, after the name or at the end of the sentence. Request for neutral assistance with Brian M. Love article

[edit]

Hello, I'm seeking neutral assistance with the article on Brian M. Love. I have disclosed a conflict of interest on the article's Talk page and have stepped back from editing the article directly. There is currently a pending edit request at Talk:Brian M. Love concerning two proposed updates: adding Brian M. Love's 2026 Broadway credit for Buena Vista Social Club and clarifying the wording of an existing BroadwayWorld award entry. The proposed changes are supported by sources provided in the edit request, and the request has been awaiting review since April 2026. If any experienced, uninvolved editors are available to review the request, their assistance would be appreciated. Thank you. ~~~~ FlordelizaGomez (talk) 16:06, 26 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

Help with Brian Halligan article?

[edit]

Hello! I'm reaching out to this Wikiproject to see if any independent editors would be willing to help with a request on the Brian Halligan article Talk page. As an employee of HubSpot, co-founded by Brian Halligan, I have a COI and won't be making edits directly.

This request for the Career section improves sourcing about Brian Halligan's career, corrects 2 inaccuracies about his teaching at MIT, and adds one more sentence about his career post-HubSpot.

I welcome any feedback or questions about this request. Many thanks! Agartmayer (talk) 19:51, 31 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
