Proposed deletion of Pneumatic web guides

[edit source]
Notice

The article Pneumatic web guides has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Tagged for notability concerns for 10 years. Completely unsourced for close to 17 years. No other language has a reliably sourced article from which to translate. Requires a complete re-write. Created by a SPA with about 16 edits.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion based on established criteria.

If the proposed deletion has already been carried out, you may request undeletion of the article at any time. Bearian (talk) 13:38, 24 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

Asking for assistance updating Verkada article's Controversies section

[edit source]

Hello there, I'm acting as a representative of the physical security company Verkada. I have placed an edit request on the company's Talk page asking independent editors to consider making a few updates to the Controversies section of the article. That request has been sitting for a few weeks with no engagement, so I thought it might be a good idea to reach out to editors at this WikiProject.

You can view my request by following this link. If you have any feedback or questions, just drop a comment under that initial post and I'll do my best to address whatever concerns you have. Thanks! Seakittea (talk) 21:44, 9 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

Luddite here

[edit source]

Is there a project for Wikipedians who are opposed to technology? I think we need to cool it a bit. Thanks,  Mr.choppers |   02:05, 17 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

You could purpose a task force within the present project. I'd suggest starting with a list of relevant topics, both covered and not covered on Wikipedia, for example, Technophilia and Technology fetishism. fgnievinski (talk) 09:25, 17 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

Peer review request for Knowledge cutoff

[edit source]

I have been working on the article Knowledge cutoff and I have addressed most (if not all) of the feedback from the peer review. The reviewer @H2so4aq wanted a second opinion, but the review has stalled ever since due to inactivity. May anyone from the project help review the article? Any feedback would suffice. Thank you very much.

Sincerely,

Duplicate content between Yahoo and Criticism of Yahoo

[edit source]

Hi, I'm a COI editor for Yahoo (a client of my employer, Porter Novelli), posting here at Spintendo's suggestion to get more feedback on the discussion I started on the article talk page. (I also posted over at WP:NPOVN about a month ago, with no response.) I'm looking for input on how much the content of Yahoo should overlap with Criticism of Yahoo.

The Similar Page Checker tool shows that Yahoo is 44% similar to Criticism of Yahoo, and Duplication Detector identified numerous paragraphs that are verbatim between the two articles, including:

  • the entirety of the Criticism section, except for a few sentences under "DMCA notice to whistleblower" and "Censorship of private emails affiliated with Occupy Wall Street protests" – the rest is near-verbatim
  • commentary on the 2010 Yahoo! Groups remodel
  • a paragraph on a 2016 lawsuit
  • the paragraph on paid inclusion in 2004
  • the first paragraph on data breaches
  • commentary on the 2013 Flickr redesign
  • commentary on the Fox IT malware attack

This seems to have initially come about as part of a plan to merge the two articles, but Criticism of Yahoo passed its AFD nomination, resulting in the redundancy. Now the Criticism section is almost as long as the History section.

Per WP:SPINOFF (Summary sections are used in a broader article to briefly cover the content of more detailed subarticles.), I think it would make sense to convert the itemized content above into summary format and incorporate it into the History section rather than keeping it in a designated WP:CSECTION. Happy to take a pass at drafting this if other editors are aligned, but wanted to get feedback first in case I'm missing something about the duplication of content. Alternatively/additionally, I could rework "Criticism" as "Reception" (per WP:POVFORK, If possible, refrain from using "criticism" and instead use neutral terms such as "perception" or "reception"; if the word "criticism" must be used, make sure that such criticism considers both the merits and faults, and is not entirely negative), moving select items into History as appropriate.

Would love any input to help ensure this article reflects best practices. Thank you! Mary Gaulke (talk) 21:17, 2 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
