Hey guys! I really need help figuring out what song is in this video.
I'm a big fan of Enka music but I really don't know anything other than the fact that I love it. I don't know of any specific artist names (Save for Jero) and all the music files I have lack the names.
Anyway, fast forward to 3:05 in this video and listen to the song that plays for a few seconds. I LOVE it and must know the name of it.

Someone said that it is by Hibari Misora, I've looked through what I could find on youtube but could not find a match to the song that plays. If anyone has the mp3 for it and wouldn't mind sharing, I would be SO happy.

--------------
I have uploaded a few Bon Odori, songs that are played and danced to at Obon.
All songs should be in mp3 format, and are hosted at mediafire.
Here, at ohiru .
Enjoy! :D

Does anyone have anything by Tokiko Kato? I downloaded her mp3 of Shima Uta and I fell in love with her voice. Anything by her would be wonderful!

Hey! I'm new to enka, but totally in love with it. So far, I'm having trouble finding more enka songs and albums to download and listen to, but I'm loving the one CD I've got.
I was wondering if anyone had any favorite albums they might rip and upload for me? In exchange, I'm posting the album that's getting me hooked on enka: "Meiko Kaji Zenkyoku Shu".
I'm really looking forward to discussing and sharing with all of you! :D |

I made this file for a friend but thought someone here might want it. It's Kitayama Takeshi's appareance at the last Kōhaku Utagassen.
Kitayama is the newest addition to the Kitajima Family and debuted in 2004. Since then he has only released one more single, 男の出船 (otoko no defune) which is what he performs in the video. It's a nice, typical enka song about boats and being a man.
Anyway, it's one of my favourites from this Kōhaku. Kitayama is joined on stage by Sabu-chan, Toba Ichirō and other singers in very colourful coats with flags, and at the end of the song he seems to be moved to tears.

I just joined and I wanted to introduce myself. I'm Sarah and I'm 21. I'm a senior at university studying history. I love Japanese music, especially enka. I thought I was odd in the fact that I like enka, being only 21. This community has made me extremely happy. :) Even my Japanese teacher was shocked that I like enka and was surprised that I could list a few singers. (Turns out I like some of the same enka as her parents!) I don't know that much about enka so I'm glad that I found this community. Some of my favorite artists are Kitajima Saburo, Miyako Harumi, Misora Hibari, and Aki Yashiro. |
