[1] I love the new home page. I like to see all the stuff that is relevant to me and my interactions right on the top rather than site-wide popular stuff. Also, LJ has not yet forced me to use the new friends page (which I don't care for), so... points for LJ!

[2] Femslash AU Fest, you guys!! Lots of prompts, no fills yet! D: Maybe some of you want to join in? I posted some Merlin, Xena, and Roswell prompts so far.

[3] Have any of you watched Roswell? I know it's an old show, but I am watching nothing new these days, so I can't fangirl over anything except old stuff. I've been marathoning it and loving it all over again (my first watch-through was maybe 5+ years ago). It's such a great show. I love everyone. Especially Kyle. Especially everyone.

[1] I have a Hey Arnold rec! A delicious little Helga/Gerald fic written by Grimmy on AO3, called Selfish. It's all that dysfunctional stuff I love about H/G. Remember that you can leave acknowledgement even if you don't have an account, so don't be afraid to hit that "kudos" button if you like it!

[2] I've been sloooowly making subtle improvements to my journal over the past couple months: fixed my layout after LJ changes affected it (all my rounded corners mostly), re-did all my tags, created a new profile layout, and I'm sprucing up my Memories (still working on this one). Yay for organizing & cleaning.

Building the profile layout was fun (I went with a Boyd Holbrook!Draco banner for now :D) though it doesn't seem to quite look the same in different browsers. The alignments are a little off. I'm still learning how this coding stuff works.

There is a brief tranformative works statement in my profile now. I hope it's sufficient--it doesn't go into great detail, because I'd prefer a minimalistic profile for now, but it does include a link to fanlore, which explains further. For now, I am comfortable with all transformative fanworks. The only thing I get slightly worried about is my own NC-17 works being out of my hands (not that there are very many of them, lol). It's possible I could alter the statement slightly in the future.

&hearts Why has LJ started putting the names of virtual gifts beneath the pics? It makes profiles look less pretty, imo. If someone really wanted to know what the v-gift is called, all they ever had to do was click on it.


&hearts I have a last.fm chart in my LJ profile, and sometimes it just doesn't load (the image doesn't load, in it's place is a boring old link to my last.fm profile). This has always happened. IT HAS ALWAYS DISPLEASED ME.


&hearts The price of Hey Arnold season 3 DVD set seems to fluctuate. I believe it was $39.99 at first, now it is $35.99, but a few days ago I'm sure it even went down to $31.99. Weird how they do that. Plz stick to $31.99, Amazon, because Hey Arnold fans are poor.

Also, last week Amazon sent me a ~special~ e-mail with a ~special~ offer of free standard shipping on this DVD set (because I sent in a complaint about the release notification emails not going out (they did finally go out after I let them know)) but um, hello, the set is over $25 so it's already free shipping, lol. Thanks so much.

Just watched Merlin 2.08. It made me laugh from my gut. Then it made me cry. Oh Merlin! You get me all worked up. Ilu, ilu, ilu.

I like the new LJ update time thingy ("If you don't edit the timestamp for an entry at all, the entry timestamp will indicate the time the entry was posted instead of the time the Update Journal page was loaded"). Now I don't have to change the timestamp to pretend it doesn't take me 20 minutes to write up my dorky little entries. Compulsive abridging. I can't stop.

I can't believe it's only 11 AM. I don't know what to do with my Sunday. Could always clean, I guess...

So gossymer's new bio layout is kind of all the rage. It really does help make the weird new profiles look better. I've already set up mine. Did a lot of tweaking. Might need to keep tweaking 'til I'm satisfied.

&hearts Finished The Catch Trap. It was love. 688 pages of love, with angst, gasps, tears, laughs, and violence all mixed in. Caused a bit of RL violence too, what with me thrashing the book repeatedly against my pillow that one time.... It's the kind of story you just love losing yourself in, that you want to go on forever and ever.

Since finishing it, I decided I wasn't ready to end my circus novel streak so I ordered a novel called Ascension, which is about a tightrope walker. And I did pick Water for Elephants back up and it's getting better now that the protagonist is actually at the circus, so yay!


&hearts Um, also. I've watched Merlin 1x05 twice now and I've convinced myself that Arthur totally had a crush on Lancelot.
