That sucks that ruins your enjoyment of the show, OP :(

I'm the exact opposite with Survivor and a few other reality shows. I have to know if a contestant I really loathe gets far in the season or wins, then I won't watch it. I think I got ten minutes into Survivor: Samoa, looked up how far Russell Hantz got, and rage quit right there.

I haven't watched Survivor in years, like probably before I had any social media accounts. I bet spoilers are really hard to avoid nowadays, which sucks because I wouldn't want to even know the ORDER they leave, much less who wins the whole thing. Because, as you say, a large part of the fun is watching the social dynamics at work and wondering how they'll vote each week.

Hasn't every season since season two been spoiled? Should be used to it by now.

A lot of the hate on "adorkable" Disney characters is rooted in misogyny.

There's a word I haven't heard in years!

It's really not, lol. The whole 'adorkable' thing is played tf out and in itself is misogynistic. Girls and women are not a fucking monolith; give us something else to work with other than just another version of the Manic Pixie Dream Girl.

I thought Goofy was the adorkable character!

IME that's not limited to the "adorkable." In women's case, misogyny tends to rear its ugly head if she stands out for any reason. Or in some cases, doesn't.

I wouldn't consider Moana "adorkable" at all, despite the art style.

It's something like "Mary Sue" imo, the criticism has genuine roots, and is not misogynistic by itself, but is overused towards any woman character someone may not like, which is where it often gets misogynistic.

Was Rapunzel originally hated for being "adorkable", or did the hate start when Disney started doing "Rapunzel, but slightly to the left" with every movie since? If it's the latter I feel like the "it's misogyny" argument doesn't really hold.

Agreed. I don't mind if they swap both halves, but genderswapping just one half of an M/M or F/F ship is pretty blatant homophobia IMO.
