[Mod Post] Fomicry Child – ***First Contest!*** [[Fan Fiction and Fanart Submission Post]]
As discussed previously:
HERE,
fomicrychild will be holding its first Fanfiction & Fanart Contest, in hopes of stimulating a little activity here, as well as the creative juices of our members. If you are interested, this is the post for you to pay attention to!
RulesOne. // Submissions may be in the form of
fanfiction or
fanart.
Requirements for fanfiction are that they be CLEARLY LABELBED ahead of time with the following:
Title, Genre, Warnings, Rating. Fanfiction should be no more than three pages in length, and preferably less—we’re looking for your one-shots here, guys. =3
Requirements for fanart are that the work be no larger than 900x900 pixels.
Two.// All submissions must be
new, and created for the purpose of this contest. They also must follow the
prompt that will be the theme of the contest.
Three.// It should go without saying, but the work should focus on Jade and Luke from NAMCO’s Tales of the Abyss. Other characters may be included, but JL and/or Jade and Luke should be the heart of the submission. Any rating is fine; whether it be hardcore R, or G-rated fluff-- so long as this requirement is met.
Four.// No flaming, and no currying votes. The voting post will be put up for submissions when the submission deadline is reached. At that time, please restrict comments to praise and constructive criticism ONLY. Also, ABSOLUTELY NO ASKING FRIENDS TO VOTE FOR YOU. All submissions will be posted as
anonymous until voting is over. Keep it that way, please—let’s have a fair contest.
Submissions***All work will be submitted here, as a comment. Comments are SCREENED.
***Fanfiction should be submitted as a comment, with proper labeling attached. Fanart should be submitted with a LINK to the image location, as well as the picture itself. (In other words, I would like to be able to see the image in your comment, but I would also like the link to its location, so that I will have an easier time reposting it.)
***Up to
two submissions will be allowed, per person. To keep it fair, however, if you will be submitting two, they must not both be fics or art; one of each, please.
***Submissions are being accepted from today [November Seventeenth] to
December First. There will be one reminder.
And now, what you’ve all been waiting for…
The PromptThere will be two prompts for this contest. Participants may choose to try either of them.
Prompt One:
Nostalgia. Tales of the Abyss deals largely with this theme. Jade’s past regrets that become the catalyst for Luke’s ‘birth’, and Luke’s distressing inability to ‘remember’ a past that wasn’t his own.
Prompt Two:
Holiday. With Halloween having come to a close, Thanksgiving fast approaching, and the advent of the winter Hols once this contest comes is done with voting, this theme was inevitable. :)

Prizes+++ If the contest receives
fifteen submissions or more (from fifteen separate members), the First Place prize will be a J/L doujinshi of the winners choice, of equal or lesser value of 25 usd.
+++ If the contest revieces less than fifteen participants, the grand prize will be a fanart of choice for the winner, done by your friendly moderator
