Gregory Jbara’s speech was so wonderful. I loved how he just wouldn’t let go of his wife. It made me all sorts of tingly. I even teared up a bit.

Karen Olivo made me cry!!!! She was my toss up Tony – I wasn’t sure it would be her or Billy Elliot. I’m so happy for her. I thought she was amazing in IN THE HEIGHTS. I LOVE HER!

NEXT TO NORMAL!!! That was a really good choice of numbers for the Tony Broadcast. Did you see the looks on her face?! Stunning intensity.

The IN MEMORIUM segment was just lovely. We did loose some giants this year. I’m still choked up about Natasha Richardson. I will say though, the director might have let us focus more on the images and not quite so much on the singers.

Marcia beat Jane?! *faints* Lovely speech though.

That little ballet boy was breathtaking. It was such an amazingly powerful emotional and raw performance.

That Elle Wood’s was not my favorite. Maybe it’s a piece just for Laura Bell Bundy?

I love Yazmina Reza. I think she’s a brilliant writer. Hysterical, smart, and passionate. Lovely wonderful dialect and she thanked her mom!!!! J I fell in love with Yasmina Reza with her play ART, which I still have yet to direct. That play really spoke to me. It made me think about friendship, love,

HAIR HAIR HAIR! SHOW IT! GROW IT! I love Gavin Creel – it’s beautiful. A civil rights activists. Dude, I want to direct HAIR! You hear that producers, I WANT TO DIRECT HAIR! And now it’s a Tony Award Wining Revival! Which of course means it’ll run with a few more months AT LEAST. It’ll get a national tour for sure. Now I won’t get to direct it for some time! But I’m really happy for this company. It’s been a long road for this revival. Joe Papp is my hero!

We all sort of knew Alice Ripley would win, but there was that small hope that Allison Janney would pull an upset. She’s alittle crazy, nuts, cuckoo – no?

Audra looks good! HOT! HOT HOT!

Did you see those little boys – they knew they were gonna win. I’m alittle sad for Gavin but these boys. SPEAK ALREADY! WAY TO THANK THE DRESSER!!!!!!! Very cute! “To all those kids out there who want to dance, never give up!”

All 5 Frankie Vallies – that’s hot! I kinda love that. They sounded great.

I love love love Stochkard but her voice is not what it used to be… I know – it hurts me to even say it!

9 to 5 will rock once it’s off Broadway. Every Regional Theatre and Community Theatre will want to produce it. I’ll want to direct at some point! It was great to see Alison Janney look so comfortable in a musical

Does anyone else think the Tony Awards should have a “BEST SONG” category? Seriously. Think about it. Songs like I WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU will never be apart am award winning score, but that song would have totally won!

Okay – I will say this –Shrek is funny and more then that – it’s witty. But it just seems a little too glossy.

And Angela Lansbury wins her 5^th Tony Award! I LOVE HOW OVER COME SHE IS! Standing Ovation for a Living Legend! She’s so cordial and humble! I love her! AND WHO DRESSED HER?! She’s HOT!

Seriously? Mamma Mia’s TOUR?! This is so smart of the Broadway producers! Let’s talk ticket sales sky rocketing for those tours… It’s a smart move, but will it actually translate in ticket sales? Time will tell….

I want to read 33 Variations. I generally love all of Moises Kaufman’s work.

Oh My God! Next To Normal won best score. SERIOUSLY!!!!! Elton is gonna be one pissy queen.

I love Lin Manuel! He’s almost the perfect man. His only flaw? He’s straight.

Time for some Tony and Maria lovin. Why didn’t they choose to create new choreography for this revival? It’s already a refreshed score and concept, they should have challenged one of the great choreographers to reinvent the choreography? It could have been the way Chicago was done. If you look at the choreography credit for CHICAGO it says Choregraphed in the style of Bob Fosse by Anne Reinking. That would have been at least a step in the right direction. Who could have done this show? Matthew Bourne? Susan Stroman? Or maybe even Twyla Tharp? It’s the only beef I have with the revival.

Rock of Ages – I just don’t get it…not to take anything away from their work or performance – but I just don’t get it. Is there a cast album? Anyone have the cast album? Burn me a copy, I’ll give it a shot.

The Tony’s are having some crazy sound issues.

An African Nicely Nicely? That’s a nice touch, considering his big number is heavy with gosepal riffs. I liked the choreography for this number.
