New Victorian Gothic Christmas Painting
I've decided to begin a new series called 'Fallen Angels'. More character based than my other work, these will be the dark visages of forgotten souls, lost between realms of time, and the first in the series is a piece called 'Purity' loosely informed by the Victorian Christmas story-'the little match girl'

You can bid on this piece starting from $20 or a bin of $350 from 10pm at the following link:
PURITY
2005 Calender
I am also entirely happy to announce that my David Gough art 2005 calenders are also available from just $15:
David Gough Art Calender 2005

My faeries are the perfect stocking filler, in more ways than one;)

Hi, I'm new to this community, I too have always felt a strong connection to unicorns, and a very strong connection to the Last Unicorn movie. It's interesting to see that there are quite a few other people out there like me:)

Hello! I'm just taking a moment to share a work-in-progress of mine that I'd like to share with others who might be interested. The banner below is a link to my other LJ which is where I've been collecting ideas and posting plans for a message-board-based RPG. It isn't up and running yet, but the more input I can get from potential players, the better off it will be. It is a mixture of D&D, Tolkien, high fantasy, anime and a few other things (but with no actual characters, lands, spells, etc. from the sources). If you're interested, leave a comment on the LJ! Have a great day, everyone!

I hate people like Vanessa who let birds fight to the death in her backyard when she could have waved her hand at them and scared them away long enough for the weaker bird to get away. Then after her dog outgrew puppyhood she left her chained up in an empty, boring, lonely back yard all through the harshness of winter so much that when I walked past the dog I saw in its eyes the saddest expression of abandonment. Vanessa didn't fix her cats so they came over to our house and lived under our porch and bred. Now, my mom is a horrible person but I know why. my mom lacks the IQ to understand that leaving animals unfixed is an evil... she says its 'gods way'... but Vanessa was an otherwise seemingly intelligent person... she was cruel and bitchy, rude and crass but I expect she understood her actions.
It is ironic that we met one summer's day because I found a baby bird that had fallen out of it's nest and I was standing there with tears standing in my eyes and the dirt of play all over me, in nothing but my stark underwear like an uncivilized beast cradling the baby it in my hands unsure of what to do about it... and Vanessa came out of her house which was next to mine. There was a rainbow for some reason and she pointed and I looked - it was the brightest rainbow I've ever seen. She said, "A rainbow means friendship. So we'll be friends from now on."
Then she said "What is that?" and i showed her my bird. The roof to put it back in the nest was too high so Laddie put it in a cage with some cloth to keep it warm and we dug up worms to smash up and feed it. But it didn't make it past the night... and we didn't know why, but likely i see it wasn't warm enough for it. This was my first brush with death.
I was so green back then. Everything was about flowers, grass, wild weeds, birds, crickets, locusts, deer, branches, shells, frogs and raccoons. I don't know when I stopped loving to go outside.
I liked nothing better than to be out looking under rocks, moving things, touching and exploring and trying to understand everything. I don't know when I stopped doing that either. Maybe it was when the understanding hit me that something was very wrong with my family. When I kept getting picked on at school and it crushed my very gentle and wonder-filled existance. I was so sensitive and wild that one most painful barbed and cruel phrase shattered me to tears and I howled in pain for nights. I saw it as true. Why would these people I have always trusted say anything untrue so if they say I am bad then I must be bad. I believed that with unmarred innocence before school had shown me differently.
I would have continued to have an idyllic life if only I'd never began to understand that people can be cruel.
But for Vanessa and our 'friendship'... We were very young. Who knew she'd pick on me every day riding to school when it started? But for a unicorn the process of growing up in human standards and human ideas of what is right and what is wrong are very difficult to begin to grasp. By now I have a much better understanding... but i still cringe when i remember those birds fighting to the death and her smug smile as she stood in her yard looking at me looking at her in bewilderment as to why she didn't stop the bloodshed. She said they were meant to die. I protect them that are my loved ones or wander into my place from Vanessa's. If I could I'd give her all my empathy to weigh her easy death-is-death conscious.
I suppose if i am chaotic good then Vanessa was chaotic neutral. She just didn't care either way long as she still gained from it. Well, they all act like they've seen a unicorn on a college campus before. I bet they would point or be odd if they really knew what I am. Sometimes I feel flashes of my true self. If the wind stirs too hard and I almost catch a memory of running. Then I feel my own skin glowing. I feel like I'm all glowing and like there is a weird tingling all through my body.
I have no idea what I am.. I guess just a combination of the DNA of my father and mother, the flesh of other humans, a viable walking bag of tissue, water and muscles. But certainly I must believe that there is something more to living than just that. I find it very hard to believe there isn't something more to all of this with the strong presence of life... or mana.. or wisdom - whatever you want call it that i feel all around me. Life goes against the grain of the universe. It is the nature of the universe to constantly break down... but life builds upward. Life grows, life consumes, life creates! And its all so beautiful I can hardly keep my breath in amazement when I think about it all.

oh wow. a unicorn community! Hello everyone. I'm a unicorn in spirit.. or something. I haven't quite figured it out yet except I have always been strongly drawn toward the symbol of the unicorn, the essence of it.. and have been strongly moved by anything to do with them. I've sought them out... looked for their images, toys of them, models of them, books, poetry.. anything connected with them.. and I've been doing this since before I could even be fully conscious of it. I would always draw them when I was a small child. I just kept drawing them endlessly.. then when I learned how to write, I would write about them.. and they were the intense subject of my devotion. Peter S. Beagle is sort of like my Pope. I worship him. I'm not sure what all this is about except that when I move through daily life it is as a unicorn locked in a human world.
I'm happy to find this place!!! *frolicks* Life isn't easy being a unicorn. Hey, did any of you know or are members of this yahoo group for unicorn people? http://groups.yahoo.com/group/unicornpeople123/

i am very pleased to find this community
i have always believed since i was oh so small that i am a unicorn. i have two unicorn tattooes, one in tribute to my deceased mother and one that i got the same time as my best friend.. its our bond symbol. i am working on getting a tribute to the last unicorn on my back. a wave that stretches from my left shoulder across my shoulder blades down the right side of my back and across my lower back. on my left hip there shall be a tiny red bull and inside the waves there will be a million tiny unicorns.. its gonna take forever.. but shall be soo worth it.. ^_^
i am glad there are some people just as obsessed as i am out there..
i am unchangable i am untouchable i am a unicorn

Hey! I am a new member of this community. Ever since I can remember I have always had a love for unicorns. My favorite movie when I was a child was Legend. I have always loved fantasy movies, especially if there was a unicorn. They give me a feeling of calm and peace. I collect unicorns as well. And I also have a love for unicorn art. If any of you could suggest some websites that I could visit, I would be very thankful. Thanks all!

Hey everyone, I just joined. I decided to join because I've always been interested in fantasy forms, and loved reading about them when I was little! I just finished reading The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe again, can't wait for the movie! Oh and I also can't wait for The Last Unicorn movie, I absolutely loved the original!

greetings and salutations all. ha! like i talk like that! anyways, i just joined...and this is my first time posting, but not really. yaaa....i'll let that rattle your brain for a while. soooo i *love* unicorns. always have always will from this life to the next and in all the other lives i've had. so i guess you could call me somewhat of a diehard fan eh? i even have the "The Last Unicorn" trademark symbol (the unicorn twisting her neck looking back over her shoulder, shinny star off the tip of her horn, with a thin crescent moon over her) tattooed on the small of my back, except i didn't get the crescent moon. I first watched the movie when i was like 4 or something then later on read the book and fell in love with it all immediately. enough to have it tattooed forever on my body. if i knew how to post images (and actually had an image hosting account) then i'd post a pic of it, but alas, i still don't. i should most definately stop typing now before you all decide that i'm either psycho or just plain annoying. okies bbye

Hooked up the sleigh bells belt that I have for my Arabian gelding. He was prancing around his pasture like he was King Shit. He certainly celebrated with his musical prancing! Yay! Now, if only I could attach that horn to him again...hehe
