Princely House of Liechtenstein Strengthens Its Long-Term Orientation
With an amendment to the House Law, the Princely House of Liechtenstein is reinforcing its long-term orientation. A corresponding proposal was adopted with the required two-thirds majority of all eligible voting members. Under the revised House Law, all female descendants of the Princely House will now be granted the same participation rights in matters governed by the House Law as their male counterparts. In addition, the order of succession will be changed from male-preference primogeniture to absolute primogeniture. This means that, in the future, the firstborn child, regardless of gender, will become the heir apparent and later the Princess or Prince of Liechtenstein.
