Andrew Wansel (born April 27, 1988), known professionally as Pop Wansel, is an American songwriter and record producer from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is, also, the son of soul musician, Dexter Wansel.
Pop grew up with a musical upbringing, as he began writing and producing his own music, at the age of ten. Some of his inspirations, at the time, were rapper, Nas, Motown, as well as, songwriting team, Holland–Dozier–Holland, as his earliest inspirations.
In 2006, Pop reached out to Nicki Minaj, via MySpace, looking to collaborate. After her initial interest, Pop sent her an idea, that would eventually become the song, “Your Love”. Nicki recorded the track, and the unmastered demo, subsequently, leaked, in 2009, landing at No. #1, on Billboard’s Hot Rap Songs.
