Viagra Boys is a Swedish post-punk band formed in Stockholm in 2015. The lineup includes lead vocalist Sebastian Murphy, bassist Henrik Höckert, drummer Tor Sjödén, saxophonist Oskar Carls, keyboardist Elias Jungqvist, and guitarist Linus Hillborg.
The band is known for their satirical and darkly humorous lyrics that critique hypermasculinity and far-right conspiracy theories. Their music blends elements of post-punk, art punk, dance-punk, garage punk, and cowpunk.
In 2018, Viagra Boys released their debut album, Street Worms, which received critical acclaim for its raw energy and incisive commentary. Their second album, Welfare Jazz, followed in 2021, further establishing their reputation for blending sharp social critique with eclectic musical influences.
Tragically, founding guitarist Benjamin Vallé passed away in October 2021 at the age of 47. Despite this loss, the band continued to create music, releasing their third album, Cave World, in July 2022.
In January 2025, Viagra Boys announced their upcoming fourth studio album, viagr aboys, scheduled for release on April 25, 2025, through their newly launched label, Shrimptech Enterprises. The lead single, “Man Made of Meat,” was released alongside the announcement, showcasing the band’s continued evolution and commitment to their distinctive sound.
Viagra Boys have performed at major festivals, including Coachella, Primavera Sound, and Glastonbury. In 2023, they won the Swedish Grammis award for Rock of the Year and supported Queens of the Stone Age during their North American tour.
