| Sports for Fun? |
[13 Jun 2008|03:01pm] |
Hello there,
Are any of you a part of a sports team that meets up for fun? I'm looking to join something of that sort (specifically soccer) in the Los Angeles area (close to Pasadena). I'm not really GOOD at playing soccer, just want to be outside and do something active once a week. Anyone?

Sex and The City movie...
yes this is a little early, but I saw the preview last night and got motivated. I would love to get some girls together for a total girly day to watch the Sex and the City movie. First start with mani/pedi early in the day, then go for martini's (or regular drinks), then see the movie and sit to discuss after the movie too. Just a day of fun without the boys. Would anyone like to join in? So far it's myself and Sarah Atwood. ^_^

| Rideshare: LA to SF roundtrip 03/14 - 03/16 |
[14 Mar 2008|01:43pm] |
I'm heading up to Berkeley tonight - I'm looking to leave around 5pm.
If we take my car - I have two spots open. We all split the gas evenly. Unless you are right off the 5 fwy, you meet me at my place (Eagle Rock area). You are not skeevy, please.
If you offer me a ride - I don't want to leave past six, please. I'm off the 5 fwy and would love to be picked up but if you can provide safe parking in your area, I'll meet you there! And I'm totally down to split the cost of gas.
About me - I'm 25, female, comfortable with silence, and listen to a lot of Britpop, indie, & oldies. I have a 2007 Corolla that gets great gas mileage.
My two rideshares bailed on me about twenty minutes ago so help me out here!
Also, if you know of any rideshare resources other than craigslist, please let me know! Thanks!

| Oh wow where to start |
[15 Feb 2008|11:06am] |
I just began this journal finally as a way to have an expression of the "other side of me" *laugh*.
I am 20 years old, and plan to be moving soon with my girlfriend to Los Angeles. We haven't yet decided yet where we will plunk ourselves down yet. I am very interested in going to design school. I am trying to branch out now to find friends and the like so that going to a "big city" won't freak me out.
Right now I am still 'in the closet' about a lot of things, mostly because of my very religious family, my very small community, and a bunch of other reasons.
I've also been exploring more of these little obsessions more in depth, instead of just thinking of these things wistfully. I guess you can say I'm looking to come out of my shell.
I'm in my first "lesbian" relationship, although I consider myself bi. Or maybe I"m just "equal opportunity". I'd love to make friends with people who share my interests.. scrapbooking, baking, yoga, tea, museums, and ofcourse fashion and shopping!
Anyway.. Hi all! Please feel free to add me. I love reading other people's journals and to gain insight from their journey, I hope some of you will be happy to share mine. (This journal I guess is my "coming out" journal and my process through which I do it.)
Cheers all!

Hi everyone! Today was the first women gamer event in So Cal at UWink. It was alot of fun! If you couldn't come, don't worry, we will be having another women gamer meetup next month. I'm looking for ideas of what you want to do. My ideas are a used game swap. People swap clothes and even makeup, so why not our old games! Maybe we'll find an old treasure that someone else missed. My other idea is the arcade and lunch in Little Tokyo. Probably a trip to the anime store too.
What would you like to do?
Have a great weekend everyone! Trina GamingAngels.com

As you know, tomorrow is Super Tuesday, where more than 22 states will hold their primaries or caucuses—one state which will be California. I am voting for BARACK OBAMA because I feel that he has the necessary experience to serve this country and has also utilized grassroots efforts to engage and excite millions of people, transcending race, ethnicity, gender, ability, immigrant status, political party, etc. These past couple of months, America has seen someone who can CHANGE policies and the lives of many, give the ordinary person HOPE for a better tomorrow and has done so with INTEGRITY, RESPECT and POISE.
Counting down the hours before Super Tuesday begins, I wanted to share a new independent video about BARACK OBAMA. For me, it embodies the sense of inspiration that so many people feel about his candidacy. Words don't do it justice, you have to watch it for yourself
I hope you will join me in voting for Barack Obama. Find your polling place: http://my.barackobama.com/CAlookup
It's time to put an end to the say-anything-to-win politics of the past. Together we can face the challenges of the future with a new kind of politics and a new kind of leadership. If you already know where you'll be voting on Tuesday, take a minute to invite five of your friends to look up their polling place:http://my.barackobama.com/CAlookup or in CA you can call the state registrars office at 1-800-345-VOTE
Thanks!
BTW here are some pix from Fridays Obama rally outside of Kerckhoff Hall at UCLA with Tatyana Ali, Max Kennedy (RFK's son), Kerry Washington, and California State Majority Assemblymember Karen Bass + some pix from yesterdays Obama rally at Pauley Pavilion (UCLA) with Oprah, Caroline Kennedy, Michelle Obama, Stevie Wonder and surprise guest Maria Shriver
Most of the pictures are under the cut because they are pretty big
( Read more...Collapse ) Here are a few details and rules that will help make the voting process run smoothly. Make sure to share these with your friends:
*Polls are open from 7:00 a.m. to at least 8:00 p.m. Anyone in line at the time the polls close is allowed to vote.
*Voters have the right to cast a provisional ballot even if their name is not listed on the voting rolls. If a voter is at the wrong polling location and has time to get to the correct polling location before polls close at 8:00 p.m., they should go to the correct one and vote with a regular ballot instead of voting with a provisional ballot at the wrong location.
*If you declined to select a political party when you registered to vote, you can still vote for Barack Obama if you request a Democratic ballot from the poll worker. Make sure you mark "Democratic" in the appropriate space or the vote might not be counted.
*Voters have the right to return a completed vote-by-mail ballot to any precinct in their county. *If you have any difficulties, you can call the California Obama Election Protection Hotline: o LOS ANGELES: (310) 801-9546 or (310) 779-0816 o SAN FRANCISCO/BAY AREA: (510) 520-5025 o OAKLAND/EAST BAY: (415) 606-6043 o SAN DIEGO: (619) 770-7105 ************* find your polling place in CA: http://my.barackobama.com/CAlookup or call the state registrars office at 1-800-345-VOTE
In other states please google your state registrars office or visit: http://my.barackobama.com/page/content/statepages

| An Introduction |
[03 Feb 2008|09:34pm] |
I've always felt like the lonely girl--the odd girl out. It's hard for me to make friends because even though I can be really outgoing and funny, I'm "slow to start." My first instinct is to be shy and to watch what happens. It's like I'm strategizing: so that when I make my move I don't fall flat on my face. All of my friends are out in different states because of college. I haven't had a chance to make any long-lasting bonds because of my natural introverted disposition and because I was in this really complicated relationship that was doomed from the get-go. It lasted six years, and it just ended about two days ago. I feel like I lost my best friend, and this has only made me realized how terribly lonely I really am. But it's all my fault because I never really made the effort to put myself out there. I want to start living instead of observing. Maybe just writing this may start that process for me, finally.
I guess I should get to the technical details: my name is Erika, and I am 23 years old. My birthday is coming up soon (Feb 22nd). I am currently a student at CSULB majoring in English Education, and am also starting the credential process right now as it is my last semester as an undergrad. I love documentaries, museums, and anything that is oddly humorous. I'm not much of a drinker or a clubber either. It just doesn't appeal to me. I'm more into good conversations with lots of lauther. Is this cheesy? I don't know. Well, anyway, that's me.
