Customer has gone through a pretty thorough cleanup of all of their assets and models. So, once you delete an asset, and a model no longer has undeleted assets associated with it, then you can actually delete the model. Because they don't want to delete history they aren't interested in doing a purge - these assets did exist at one time and their historical data is still useful information to them.
So by navigating to models, and clicking on "View Deleted", you can see your deleted models. But then clicking on one of them, they show as having no assets - which makes sense, as those assets are deleted as well.
But for them, they want to be able to more easily view those deleted assets. The workaround they came up with is to go to the deleted assets screen and do searches based on asset names, which seems pretty clunky.
The best way I can think of to better display this would be that when you're looking at a model, where it would want to list a bunch of assets for that model, to have another "View Deleted" button there that shows you deleted assets of just that model.
If for some reason we don't want to do it that way, it might be enough that we just by default show only deleted assets when we're looking at deleted models? Since a deleted model is only ever going to have deleted assets (unless something has gone very wrong).
I still think the former solution is slightly better than the latter, but either way could really help them out.
