It looks like the other plugin (homebridge-sleepme) was updated only 5 days ago, have you tried instead to suggest merging your improvements into that plugin?
We would only consider verifying a new plugin over an old one if it has not been maintained for a long time.
The other plugin (homebridge-sleepme) was technically only updated 5 days ago, but if you look at the release notes for the past year of releases, they're all just dependency updates, no fixes or features: https://github.com/LukeWinikates/homebridge-sleepme/releases
I tried working with the author of that plugin initially about adding my desired features and even opened a PR, but we did not agree on branching/pull methodology etc and so I forked to create my plugin, which now has the greater feature set.
Considering my plugin was last (really) updated in march and the original was last (really) updated last year, I think an exception should be made. I've also already tested my plugin on homebridge 2.0, and can verify it works without issue, although I haven't yet published an update with that metadata.
Interested in getting a @homebridge-plugins/ scope for your plugin? See our Homebridge Scoped Plugins program.
If for any reason in the future you can no longer maintain your plugin, please consider transferring it to our Homebridge Plugins organization.
Don't forget to join the official Homebridge Discord server, where plugin developers can get tips and advice from other developers and the Homebridge project team in the #plugin-development channel!
As a verified plugin, you can request a channel in the Discord server to discuss your plugin with users and other developers. Just ask in the #plugin-development channel.
Thank you for your contribution to the Homebridge community.

Hi @bwp91 ,
The other plugin (homebridge-sleepme) was technically only updated 5 days ago, but if you look at the release notes for the past year of releases, they're all just dependency updates, no fixes or features: https://github.com/LukeWinikates/homebridge-sleepme/releases
You can see 3 of the 4 issues opened are by me, a year ago: https://github.com/LukeWinikates/homebridge-sleepme/issues
I tried working with the author of that plugin initially about adding my desired features and even opened a PR, but we did not agree on branching/pull methodology etc and so I forked to create my plugin, which now has the greater feature set.

Thanks for your consideration!
