Nightly Build Identification #1985

Open

Description

@shawngmc

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
Currently, when I install a moonlight nightly, I don't see a way to tell what build it is. The settings screen shows 6.1.0, and there is no build date, hash, etc.

Describe the solution you'd like
Update the build process so that useful version identification info is injected into the nightly build.

Describe alternatives you've considered
I'm not sure where else this could be addressed. Obviously, new release versions would be great - but this is a big QoL improvement in the meantime, and would still be useful after a release.

    From what I can tell from a quick search, the version string is only in:

    • app/version.txt - this appears to be the primary source-of-truth
    • app/deploy/linux/com.moonlight_stream.Moonlight.appdata.xml - this appears to be metadata for the AppImage.

    However, it looks a bit more complicated than I had hoped thanks to the auto-updater (which may not be useful now, but hopefully will be in the future). Will do a bit more digging and take a look tomorrow.
