| An attempt to revive this community, but Gwen had her 2nd child on Thursday |

Gwen Stefani, singer, pseudo-fashionista, and all around sellout, welcomed her 2nd child this past Thursday. She had a baby boy, the second for her and Gavin. Kingston, of course, is his big brother. Here's something rather noteworthy, in an attempt to be unique she named the newborn Zuma Nesta Rock. Yep, she named him Zuma Nesta Rock. Zuma Nesta Rock Rossdale. Yeah Gwen, way to be unique, just name your son while the drugs are still in your system. Hate to say it, but you failed in your attempt Gwen. The name choice screams of mommy tries too damn hard to be cool and unique and it fails miserably. A very wise person on a message board I frequent stated that "They should not let moms name their babies while still under the influence." So true, so true.
I could understand her giving her newborn son the first name Zuma if she was visiting Zuma Beach when her water broke all of a sudden and she went into labor, nearly giving birth there, but since that's highly unlikely....no.
I wonder if she has another baby, this time a girl if she's going to give her daughter the first name of Numa? Wouldn't surprise me, but she's more likely to give the poor dear a name like Raineesha, Questalicia, Luisa, Mayu, Mai, or something like that. |

| Gwen's new album is bombing! |

The Sweet Escape debuted at #3 last week, and this week it's slipped all the way down to #14! Making "Wind it Up" her first single was a horrible mistake- many people find it unlistenable on it's own, and it's even worse when Gwen attempts warbling it live. I cringe every time I hear her whine "UH. UH, UH, UH-UH." Does she have to do that every song? Hopefully this will shoot down her ego. And beleive me, she needs it.

Taken from Oh No They Didn't
Gwen Stefani Says Hara-f**k-u to Fans
Gwen Stefani does not want you to holla for her -- she really, really doesn't.
A TMZ spy was in the audience for a taping of Gwen's appearance on MTV's New Year's Eve special, and he tells us that the fashionista-rocker didn't just ignore fans who were squealing with joy and encouragement, she tried to squelch them. "She would either turn away from the direction of the person complimenting her," says our source, "or she would make a 'cut it out' motion towards them."
Gwen also shielded her face from audience members as she darted from sound check to dressing room before the taping, says our spy. And she interrupted a take of her single "Wind It Up" because her fans were actually making noise when it started.
Perhaps Gwen's gotten rather too used to the mute Harajuku girls who accompany her performances.
A rep for Stefani says that he was at the taping, that the account of events is "news to" him, and that he doesn't think it happened.
Really, not surprising. Ever since the whole "OMG I'm so *~~*GlAmOrOuS & SeXy*~~**~~*" bullshit she's been pushing on us, her ego has become ridiculous. A handful of people in the post even said that while Gwen was nice to them when they met her before her solo career, but now she's a complete bitch. Somebody needs to give her a reality check. |

Gwen's brand new album 'The Sweet Escape'. Hands up who hates the new song and who won't be buying the cd. *raises hand*. Funny, it's already only 10 dollars, not the usual 20 :P |

GWEN Stefani, of the gorgeous plati num hair, gorgeous rocker husband Gavin Rossdale and gorgeous 8-pound baby boy Kingston is about to have a not-gorgeous experience. Ain't no doubt about the lead singer for No Doubt about to get hit with a subpoena. Unless she has better lawyers than colorists, she's due to be dragged into a deposition as a witness. As I understand it, here's the case:
Grammy winner Gwen Stefani, having widened her career to include fashion designing, is involved in a manufacturing firm called Schifter & Partners. One of their products allegedly competes with an item manufactured by an operation called LeSportsac. There's, supposedly, similarities in construction, appearance and price. Schifter & Partners, for example, offers Stefani's Harajuku Lovers line, which is a sort of Japanese street fashion look, which supposedly resembles LeSportsac's Tokidoki line, which is sold in America by an entity called Brand Science, which says it cannot tolerate such disregard of its contractual rights. Which makes any sane human wonder why anyone would fight over what street people wear in downtown Yokohama.
Anyhow, Schifter is the former CEO and president of LeSportsac. When he left, the deal was no soliciting business directly or indirectly of any current Le- Sportsac customer pending any further court action. OK? You still with me?
So, Brand Science hires the Buchanan Ingersoll law firm. Its pit bull Barry Slotnick files suit and obtains a New York State Court order prohibiting whatever Schifter's doing and whoever he's doing it with and this includes Gwen Stefani. Last month the plaintiff's legal team was in gear, but because of the fact that Stefani was due to give birth, everyone decided to take a breath and wait until mommyhood, infanthood and nursinghood had settled down. The baby was born May 26. The subpoena should now come to full term in September. Gwen has already received a request for her documents.
I really hope this turns out the way I imagine it. I'm REALLY excited that she's getting sued over her beloved clothing line. |

I don't know if anybody here has heard yet, but Gwen has had her baby. She had a boy(and the world heaves a collective sigh of relief) last friday in LA. The boy's name is Kingston James McGregor Rossdale. Yep, you heard right, Kingston James McGregor Rossdale(McGregor? Wonder where that came from. I almost thought she had an affair with the actor Ewan MacGregor, but dismissed it since his last name is spelled differently.) Well, I'm going to allow myself to have a moment of kindness here to congratulate Gwen and Gavin. Congratulations on the birth of your son! Okay, that's over with, now what the hell is up with naming her son Kingston? Was it because he was conceived in Kingston, Jamaica? I highly doubt it, I think it's more of a case of Gwen trying too hard to be unique(yeah, her and many of the other celebrities who have given their children unique names). The only other way I can see naming her son Kingston is if she had him in Kingston, Jamaica and the people there were very kind towards her. Anyway, I weep for that boy's future. However, it could've been worse, she could've had a daughter instead. At that point, we'd wind up having a mini-Gwen. You know, I kinda wish she did have a girl because once her daughter's a teenager she'll probably rebel against her mom by not dressing up like her. Well, tell me what you think. Oh and one more thing, what do you all think of my new icon? It was a custom icon made for me. I have another custom made anti-gwen icon too. |

From ohnotheydidnt:
Gwen Stefani has broken a finger while dressmaking. The singer was rushing to finish samples for her fashion label L.A.M.B when a sample got stuck in her sewing machine.
While trying to save the fabric, Gwen's finger was bent back and snapped leaving the singer shrieking in pain. A source is quoted in Britain's Mirror newspaper as saying: "Gwen was up against a deadline and was hurriedly putting some new samples together. She forgot to lock down the settings and the material ripped, so she tried to save it."
Gwen - who is eight months pregnant with her first child - was rushed to hospital by her husband, Bush frontman Gavin Rossdale. Doctors have revealed that she suffered a fracture and a brace was put on the damaged digit to aid the healing process.

| Gwen diss du jour |

Anybody here follow Oh No They Didn't, LJ's resident celebrity/pop culture gossip machine? Someone posted candids of Gwen, hoping that the masses would be amazed by her...brilliant style, but rather, they tore right into her. It's entertaining:
http://community.livejournal.com/ohnotheydidnt/5348534.html
My comments? In this context, I'd like to compare her to Lenny Kravitz: so wrapped up in herself and focused on trying to look stylish and ahead of the curve, she only ends up looking, at best, out of place. I won't diss the clothes themselves, but rather, Gwen deciding to wear expensive couture outfits to get Starbucks and walk the dog. These clothes may look good in a spread in Vogue, but look ridiculous in real life. Nobody can be dubbed a "fashion maven" if they can't judge the appropriateness of their attire- wearing Vivienne Westwood pumps and Burberry socks for errands is just as un-endearing as wearing sweats and uggs to a gala. In Gwen's case, it just screams self-absorption. It seems nowadays she can't go outside without full makeup, acutely coordinated expensive outfit, and hair that is done done DONE, with every little minute strand in place. She tries so hard it hurts to look at her.
Now, that's probably the thing that her fans always love about her. However, I've noticed that when arguing, Gwen fans always bring up these illustrious points:
-You're just jealous -Gwen is beautiful -Gwen is successful -Gwen is rich
Now, more often than not, I always get the "Gwen is rich" one thrown at me. As if that has to do with her worth as an artist/entertainer/person. She got rich by whoring out her name and branding herself. Why should we bow at the feet of people just because they have more money than us. Saddam Hussein was rich, that doesn't make him someone we should admire.
And success? Success doesn't mean shit these days in pop culture. Success is carefully calculated by PR firms deciding the perfect time to be in a commercial or arrive at a red carpet event or have nude photos "accidentally" released. Songs are played four-or-five times a day based on how much a record company is willing to pay to get your song on the air- hell, people like Ashlee Simpson go platinum because of this. |
