Description:
The darker side of HH fanfiction
So. Let's talk about you.
You've written your share of Horrible Histories fan fiction, but now you want to try your hand at something...darker - or maybe you've written a story that you know you can't post on the regular HH fiction sites because...well, there's nothing involving children, animals, under-age partners, scat, snuff-fic, or anything of that nature - but perhaps there's some serious S&M, bondage, it's more explicit, explores darker themes than usual, or simply doesn't fit in anywhere else.
If that is you, then Horrible Histories After Dark is the place for you...

This is a het/slash fiction community for the CBBC series Horrible Histories. If this kind of material makes you uncomfortable, please be advised that this may not be the ideal place for you. Communities like this exist so that het & slash fans can share ideas without worrying about offending mainstream fans. We respect the mainstream communities, so please respect ours. Flaming is not tolerated & trolls will be handed over to Henry VIII to be sat on. Or eaten.
This community supports male/female, male/male, female/female, & bisexual relationships; therefore, absolutely no bashing of any relationship type will be tolerated, so please, play nice!
What you will find here: Discussions, pictures, stories, video clips, gifs, wallpapers, photomanips [pictures of the cast & others manipulated to look as though they are in ‘compromising’ positions...], & general squeeing. All & more are welcome.
The important bit: Any fiction/fan art etc in this community will not involve individuals under the age of consent. It is understood that the legal age varies from country to country, & was certainly lower during earlier historical periods [but please pay no attention to Simon Farnaby talking about Caveman Sex] than it is today. However, for legal reasons & for the purposes of this community, characters depicted in fictitious sexual situations in stories posted here are over 16 years of age. This applies to both the gay & heterosexual age of consent here in the UK.
Adult content: Please be aware that material posted here will frequently contain explicit scenes of a sexual nature between two men, or two women, or even...well, wherever your imagination takes you; but please: if, because of your country’s legal age limit you are forbidden by law to look at some of the material mentioned here, you shouldn’t be here.
Joining instructions: Please join the community as well as adding it to your friend’s list, otherwise you won’t be able to read all of the entries. :¬)
Sound like your cup of tea? Then please read the rules below to make sure:
1. Anything goes here: the dark, the gritty, the depraved, the twisted, & the kinky; but we also welcome the sweet, the romantic, & the fluffy. Read any warnings given in the fiction headings beforehand to see if you wish to continue reading – otherwise, you take your chances. If you then don’t like what you find, you’ve only yourself to blame & don’t bleat about it afterwards to the moderators and/or the artists/authors themselves!
2. Spoilers: We can’t avoid them if a new series is shown in the UK before it’s shown elsewhere, although it may well be leaked on the net anyway. All posts containing spoilers must therefore be labelled/tagged for the benefit of members who prefer to wait until a particular episode/series has been aired.
3. Cut-tags: In the interests of keeping everyone marginally sane, & to avoid incurring the wrath of your moderators, we ask you to put fics, videos, or large images behind LJ cut-tags. If you don’t know how to do this, please feel free to ask – or check the Livejournal FAQs.
4. Tags: A list of these will become available as time progresses & series get shown. :¬) Please ensure that you use these if you want your posts to be accessed by readers who might be trying to find stories about particular characters.
5. Fanfiction, fanart, fanvids, fanmixes etc: For clarification, we follow the widely used MPAA rating system; this is essential to ensure that readers know what they’re getting, & so that they can find what they’re looking for! A typical rating system might run like this:
G - This rating describes fic which children could read; simple, easy on the eye, the type of story where the characters might get a kiss & a cuddle at the end of it, but only in the most Disneyesque setting... No swearing or violence.
PG - The next level up, this is probably suitable for teens around thirteen & onwards, though it depends on the maturity of the teens. It might feature a quick kiss, grope, or a cuddle, & in more prominence than a G-rating, but nothing which a normal, well adjusted thirteen year old would take umbrage at. Mild swearing & the occasional thump may also be included.
NC15+ - Allusions to nice, sweet, mutually fulfilling sex appears. The inclusion of more explicit description, swear words, & mild kink is catered for. This level of story is suitable for readers over the age of 15.
R/NC-17 - Smutty hardcore, happy shagging. The feel good PWP comes under this heading, as does abduction/torture. I’d say mild torture, but I’m not sure these two words can go together comfortably; seizing & beating/whipping the other character, basically. Kink is mild & fluffy, more silk scarves & feathers than blood-play & auto-erotic asphyxiation! Happy, dirty, explicit porn & the like! Suitable for 18 & over.
