Deweyites Unite!

Sojourner killed herself last week.

Honestly, I feel weird about it.
We haven't talked in ~10 years, but a couple of months ago via facebook, we did start chatting, messaging and such.  Nothing big, just the typical what are you up to stuff...
She seemed to be doing well, but then her boyfriend killed himself and her posts got darker and darker.

Again, it isn't like we were currently close...but we were at one point (even if there was a lot of turbulence).  I guess I always hoped that she would go on and do her life as big as possible and I could do mine.

Of course I think a lot of this just comes from a death of anyone you happen to know... which is why I am posting it here.

When would this work?  End of June?  Mid-August? 

Anybody else out there think the world we be a better place if we were allowed to beat our problems with Boffer weapons? (Warcries and threats of sodomy optional).

So, a while back antarcticlust and I were figuring out a way to get us all together.  The answer was not hard to find...A gaming convention.  Okay well, more of a weekend gaming gathering...but you get the gist.  I was hoping for June 2009, but early Aug 2009 would also be peachy.

Any thoughts?

Gettin' old can be fun.

Two things:

1. Do any of you Deweyites have a photograph of Roxanne? I'd love to have a scan if you do. I'd like both just to have, but also because I started making her a Day of the Dead shrine yesterday (purple, of course). Did I mention that one of my good friends here in Madison was best friends with Roxanne in high school? It was a pretty sobering experience when we found that out. She showed me some incredible photos of them at prom, where Roxy was crowned Prom Queen!

2. There's a very good chance I'll be in Vermont this week, as my dad informed my mom yesterday that he'd like a divorce.. I would definitely love to be able to see people while I'm there, so if you'd like to get in touch, let me know. 

I am listening to the BBC at 4:30a.m. about the troubles in Congo.
One of the talkback e-mails they read was from someone named Mariama.
