95y and I had some really fun times. I was just thinking of him. I remember spending 2 hours downloading Harvest Moon for the regular Nintendo and staying up into the wee hours of the morning and the download failing. I think that is when I should have realized that his time with me was running short. I wish I could have done something, I know that in my heart, there is a little hope left that maybe, just maybe 95y still has a little bit of power left in him to at least let me say good bye to him. I wish, with all my heart, that I could give him a proper farewell. Maybe in Athens, Ohio. I've heard stories that everyone buried there haunts the town. Maybe if I bury him there, he'll come back to me. Evil or not, he was my first computer and I'll always love him.
I think I'll need to stop this entry now....tears are filling my eyes. Current Mood: contemplative Current Music: the fan...

Twas a sunny summer day, June be the month, year 2001. I had just gotten home from Jenna's. That was the day my dad got his new computer from Gateway. But what does that mean? That means that I would get my dad's old computer, which was a Windows 98. Though to some this may not have seemed like a big deal, but it was the best thing that had ever happened in my life.
That computer put up with a lot. I stretched its memory to no end, and it had to undergo countless reformat jobs with all the viruses, spyware, etc out there. But he held through.
It wasn't until summer of 03 that I finally gave my computer a name. Billay. So perfect for my baby. Though he couldn't play hi-tech games, and The Sims made him lag to no end, I loved him. He allowed me to type my story and did not complain when I kept downloading MP3s.
Summer 04, Billay needed to be reformatted again. I figured I'd just have Tom fix him. He was reformatted, but he didn't finish, so Billay fell into a coma.
Billay is still in his coma, he is not dead. I don't care what anyone says, he is alive, just..in a coma.
Maybe one day...one day he will make a comeback. And everyone will regret the day they dissed Billay and his slowness and his comaness. |

This is going to be a good place to share memories about your dead, dying and comatose computers. I guess I'll just start off with a story about mine.
How We Got 95-y: It was sometime during the winter (it was snowing when we went to buy a computer) and I was around 9 years old and at this time, I lived in Virginia. My family and I went to CompUSA to go computer shopping. We needed one because this was around the time when you have to start typing up reports and stuff for school. Anyway, we were looking around CompUSA and found the newest computer that was out at that time. It had just come out that same week the salesperson had told us. My father decided to get it. We also bought a few computer games, I remember we got Unreal and a writing program for me, which I still have...on A Drive disks which my new computer cannot use because there is no A Drive. Then, we headed home to give our computer a loving family.
That's how we got 95-y. I didn't actually name it until the summer of 2003...which was also the summer it....it.....::cries:: DIED! Current Music: Sneaker Pimps- Low Five Current Mood: creative
