i got forgotten in the hubbub this morning, but it gave me a chance to read "Angels and Demons" completely - since i've been up since 2am. >.< damn body. i just may run out of books here. Next on the list - generation kill.
not reading lj. but love and kisses to you all. craziness looms quickly.
my parents informed me today that in the interest of living life to the fullest and taking advantage of every opportunity, they're sending me to Poland at the end of August for my cousin's wedding!!!
i was flabbergasted, but zomg, squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
Made it to Melbourne, FL safe and sound. Some incredible weather & adventures on the way down. Photo update tomorrow. Have wined & dined & fireworked with the family.
Today I finished sewing my dress for my brother's wedding... and then at 10pm decided that I didn't like the upper front bodice, so deconstructed the dress, cut out a different front bodice, stitched that in and then finished it. And it's much more aesthetically pleasing now and figure flattering.
And then I cut out most of the fabric for jess' dress. Decided to combine two different sari-inspired fabrics for her dress and that's on the agenda for tomorrow. Along with various other last minute things.
Things I've learned: -I would really like to sew a fair portion of my own clothes -I wouldn't mind taking a sewing class or two. (along with art classes, culinary classes, dance classes, etc..)
So, I'm leaning heavily towards this 50-s era pattern from my last post as a base, but here are a couple vintage patterns I found that intrigued me. ( behind the cutCollapse )
I mean, what else is there to do during covid19 but scroll through endless pages hoping for a blast from the past when you could be doing other things?
