With the giant send-off that was Dragon*Con, I can finally say that my 2011 con season is officially over. I don't see how people can go to (and afford!) a year long season with no breaks, but I do look forward to not having to think about attending a big convention until 2012.
With that being said, here is my 2012 list!

I think only a couple of my friends still post here. I'm not even remotely interesting enough to post on here anymore. My life has pretty much flat-lined to be - to put it a bit politely - boring. I've gotten into a lame routine of just working at a lame shoe store and coming home. work. come home. On my days off I just stay home and do not want to be bothered. While my job is (somewhat) easy, I do not get paid very much and end up doing the majority of the work in the store. My co-manager got chewed out today because there was work still left in the back to be done because the Co-M never does anything. That shit annoys me. He gets in these pissy moods that makes me not want to have anything to do with him despite the fact we have been friends for like seven or eight years. My store manager and I have gotten into it like three times before, so now we try to just be very cordial to each other. They also recently hired a new person - the fiancee of the Co-M's friend - and that CUT everyone else's hours. So no matter how often they claim that there are no hours to give and that they need to get rid of some of us already on staff, they seem to manage to hire this chick.

I was contemplating getting a second, retail job, but it is still such a ridiculous job market that I can not find one. I have applied to numerous jobs as far away as Raleigh, North Carolina just in hopes of landing something that would actually pay me enough to survive and enjoy life.
Other then job woes, I want to get back into lolita so badly. It simply is out of my range I think. I barely can focus on cosplay and if it was not for the help of some amazing friends, I would not have been able to make Litchi (thanks to Regena for fabric!) or finally begin Baby Doll (yay Jose for my wig!) Hopefully I will be able to complete Baby Doll by Animazement, which is a little over 40 days away. Wig is on it's way and I have picked out every single item that I need for the costume. Just need to order everything. I'm actually going to get some circle lens for this one...going to color my eye brows, wear makeup *gasp*, wear false lashes. The whole shebang! I'm excited. I think that since Yoko I have been taking my cosplay to a whole 'nother level. It's not like I'm an expert or perfect...and I'm sure people still think i'm sloppy. But even though I have been at cosplay for ten years, it's only been just the last few years (whoo college+post grad life!) where I have been able to fully enjoy the hobby and devote serious time (and money) to the hobby. I'm proud of where I am because at the five year mark I was not even capable of making an entire costume. And now I made Litchi. Which was hard, but I did not give up. And sure there are some slight inaccuracies (the ponytail. but, hell, i chose comfort over an ugly, damn tangled long ponytail like some Liltchi's), but I love that costume and I love that I 100% made it myself with NO help - besides Regena giving me fabric which I am extremely grateful that she did. Also, I love my Juri costume. I can not wait to re-wear it at Animazement. That is yet another costume that I made with NO help at all. I can only go up from here.

I am applying to be a Frag Doll Cadette for the Spring class, but I am getting really nervous about the application process - especially the video part. I'm thinking my gaming skills are probably not up to par and I am not attractive enough (pfft I'm hot). Its ridiculous to even think of stuff like that because they choose randomly...I'm unsure why they even require applications. I'm probably over thinking the entire thing. Some of the past Cadettes videos are standard - stand in front of the camera and talk. Some have done some artsy cuts and added game footage and such. I know nothing about video editing but I really wanted to do something with more footage then just me standing there talking.
I enlisted a friends help to shoot some of the video. I'll do most of the talking portion while walking on the boardwalk by the beach. I was also trying to decide if I wanted footage of me playing DDR and other arcade games since many arcades are right by the beach. Maybe some video of me buying video games at a store? It seems like overkill. This one girl didn't even answer the questions. She just included film footage from her Anime Expo trip. I was supposed to get footage at AWA for this video, but never did it.
I think its all overkill and I'm nervous the video will seem like I'm trying too hard. And the girls are chosen RANDOMLY! Should I even be thinking about it so much and worrying?!?

All my halloween plans are probably going to fall through because of finances. I got invited to a halloween party in Charlotte and I really wanted to go. Also, my friends in Columbia are going out so I wanted to go there too!
I don't have a costume and I actually don't feel up to traveling this weekend. Also I really need to save money to go to Raleigh next thursday for epic cosplay sweatshop times. Don't get me started on how expensive these next costumes might be.

National Novel Writing Month is starting soon. I have no computer therefore no way to participate :( I'm not handwriting 50k words. Last year I stopped because of my thesis, but techinically I probably wrote 50K words that month seeing as my thesis was fiction.
I really want to write this year...I don't have any solid ideas, but I could come up with something if I had a computer. I was even thinking of using my cell phone! (But I don't want to do that...that would suck)
I'm gathering up a lot of my short stories so I can sort through them. My two unfinished manuscripts are already in a binder (one is a previous NaNo). Since the crash of our desktop, I can't get to some of my writing that I really want! Most is original fiction but there is a really racy Tsunade/Jaraiya fanfic from my Naruto fandom days. I also have some Harry Potter fanfiction in a binder somewhere around here.
I absolutely love writing. If I could do it for a living, I would.

1. My nephew was born on October 13th! I loves him! He's Kenny the 3rd so I'm calling him "Littlest Kenny" from here on out :) I haven't seen him since the day he was born so I'm going to try to see him after church on sunday. I can not WAIT until he's atleast a month and a half old. Then I can keep him and show him off. I'm waiting until he gets a bit bigger to start spamming everywhere with pictures.
2. X-con in the morning! I'm sooo not in the cosplay mood so I'm wearing an OTT/deco sweet lolita outfit. I'm taking my Juri costume in case I get the urge to cosplay. I'm more excited about my Ichibancon costume! Very ready to start making it. I'll be a vampire ^_^ I hope to get fangs on the CHEAP after halloween is over. I'm trying to get some I can rewear because the ones I saw in K-mart seemed like one-time-only fangs...even though they're the kind I want.
3. I'm going to have to sew buttonholes for the first time. It makes me slightly nervous...
