Any suggestions? [Mar. 19th, 2010|04:23 pm]

Every year I learn to hate Ticketmaster ALL OVER AGAIN.

    Rockaholic Presale Ticket

    Ticket Price $25.00 x 2
    Convenience Charge $9.80 x 2
    Order Processing Fee $5.65
    TOTAL CHARGES $75.20

Yes, that is right, Tickemaster manages to charge more than $75.00 for two $25 tickets. Ticketmaster is like a 50% tax on every artist, every band, and every fan who wants to go to the events they middleman. In addition to this, last year they managed to not mail my tickets and I had to pick them up at a booth before the show (with the hundreds of other people that Ticketmaster failed get their tickets to. They get paid to do ONE THING and they FAIL AT THAT). Not to mention Ticketmaster has THE WORST web interface I have used recently. In between you and your ticket are logon screens and with redundant data entry and timeout counters, and multiple illegible captchas.

When I think about all the money I have given them over the years, and the multiple times they have managed to lose my tickets, it makes me want to go the their HQ, hold down their CEO and pee in his mouth.

However, due to polite society's prohibition against forcible mouth-peeing, I am looking for another option here. Does anyone else know of a service that I can use (or suggest venues and talent and promoters use) that isn't as infuriating? I love supporting the K.C. scene and music, but I hate feeding this vampire operation.

Any suggestions, ideas or commentary on this situation is highly welcome.

*-A quick check of Craigslist verified my suspicion that the going rate for peeing in someone's mouth is less than what I have paid TicketMaster over the years.
