Welcome to my journal. Be on the lookout for falling angst, speeding cynicism, zig-zagging sarcasm, and rapidly bouncing fannishness, not to mention the occasional cat or five six seven that might try to trip you up. Not always for the faint of heart or easily offended. Contains strong language (occasionally in mass quantities). This side up. Unless stated otherwise, all the icons I use are ones I've made myself. If you like what you see and want to use some of them yourself, you can probably find those and lots more at my Icon Hut (home of the internet-famous "OMG!" Power Rangers icon as seen on userpicks). Take what you like, credit would be lovely, but don't hotlink or claim as your own...or it won't be pretty.

Do you think my witticisms and/or snark are worthy of being posted on metaquotes? Go ahead and post it there...no need to ask me permission. Same goes for if you think an icon of mine is worthy of being posted on userpicks.

Want to IM me? You're more than welcome to do so if I'm online and not off wasting my time in WoW or something, but keep in mind that I have a very low tolerance for BS and bad grammar, so do make sure that you have something to talk about if you want to talk to me. And please don't invite me to chatrooms unless I know who you are already.

Just to clear up a few more things that you'll likely see within my journal...

-Yes, I'm a liberal and identify myself as a democrat. No, they're not dirty words. Deal.
-Yes, I'm pro-gay rights. I'm straight but not narrow.
-Yes, I'm pro-choice. I rather like having control over my girly bits, thank you very much.
-Yes, I'm childfree. I'm not keen on bringing a potentially neglected miniature version of my screwed-up self into the world when I have no maternal instincts and don't really like kids. Yes, my significant other and parents are okay with this. And no, I'm not going to change my mind either. Caring for five cats is enough of a headache, and having worked retail in some form for over seven years has exposed me to enough screaming brats as it is.
-Yes, I'm Pagan. No, I'm not going to hell, because I don't believe in it. If you have a problem with this, I suggest that you please take your proselytising elsewhere. Christianity just doesn't work for me.
(And for the record...no, I am not anti-Christianity. I have the utmost respect for those who are tolerant and open-minded, actually follow its teachings of love and forgiveness, and don't shove their beliefs down everyone's throat at every turn. It's those who give the religion a bad name that I can't stand.)
-No, I don't really like slash/yaoi. I'm simply not turned on by it, nor am I homophobic, and please don't treat me like I should adhere to the stereotype that all women are turned on by it. If you like it, great, but it's just not my cup of tea.
-Yes, I'm an adult fan of Power Rangers and am not afraid to show it. If you've got a problem with that, I'm sure that all the other 20, 30, and 40-something (and older) fans out there in internet-land would love to have a word with you as well. If that's not enough, perhaps this entry of mine might grant you some insight as to why I'm still a fan.

I am also the person who has inflicted the madness that is icanhasmegazord, the PR/sentai/toku macro/poster community, upon LJ and the internet. If there's any proof you need that it's possible to have a sense of humor about the stuff you love, here it is.

I'm also autistic; I was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome (yeah, yeah, insert joke about it being a TVTropes link, whatever) at the age of 19. So I'm not dumb or aloof. Anyone who thinks I am because of the things I like or the things I do or say should get a clue. I just don't deal well with certain types of people or specific things, and tend to react to things differently than most people do. This is just who I am, and I despise the notion that some people have that I should be "cured." If you're offended by that or can't be open-minded to those who are different, then please just turn around and leave. Goodness knows I've dealt with plenty of your kind over the years.

Oh yeah, and to clarify one last thing... I'm very much taken...engaged, actually. Got a problem with that? I'm sure that knightofravens would be glad to address that with a sharp pointy object or ten.
