so..i finally got on lj today to look up some information in the breastfeeding community for someone at work. and i noticed that it has been exactly one year since i've updated. i'm obviously overdue, lol.
everything is going well with the kids. delanie is going to be 9 in a few weeks and is going into the fourth grade this year. avery is three. he is talking A LOT more now but still getting speech therapy and now has a teacher coming to the house twice a month also. nothing much to really report on them.
ted came home from jail on parole in november last year. he lasted about three weeks home and sober before he started drinking again. things were bad and got very bad a few weeks ago. i actually ended up getting a protective order against him for myself and the kids. that lasted..hmm, one day. i called him to make sure he wasn't sleeping in an alley somewhere. i was close..he was sleeping in his friend's shed because he had nowhere to go. i let him come home; he was going through alcohol withdrawal. he stayed in the basement and we didn't really talk for a couple days except for me making sure he was, you know..alive and hadn't died in the basement trying to detox. he has been sober from alcohol and marijuana for 15 days now and everything is going great. we went to counseling together last week and he goes again by himself tomorrow. we are going together again next week.
work is okay. i like my job, the people i work with, and love helping people breastfeed. but "due to budget cuts," all of the peer counselors had their hours cut. i was dropped down to 12hrs a week starting in july. there is a possibility that come october, when the new state budget starts, i will get some of my hours back (i was cut bc of county budget cuts). hopefully all. wishful thinking for more hours than i have now but i will seriously be happy if i still have a job when that new budget hits. ugh. so until then i'm looking for a 2nd job.

They just called me with the results of the sleep study. They said she has very mild obstructive sleep apnea. :(

I wanted to do a long post but I just realized that it's 4 and I've yet to get in the shower before I have to work at 5, lol.
Delanie had a dentist appointment today. I thought she had a cavity in one of her molars. I felt so bad. :( She was good for the dental assistant but didn't want anything to do with the dentist. She's usually completely fine with both. This time I had to hold her down, lol. The dentist said, "Well, she has (insert long scientfic words here) which is known as geographic tongue." I'm like, "Yeah, I knew about that already." I asked about the cavity in the back and he said that it wasn't a cavity, just a stain on her tooth. YAY! My baby is still cavity free. :)))

So. I have to go buy a ham bc I forgot to put it away when I went out and the dog took it off the table and ate it.
Easter was okay. We stayed home the whole day. Ted's mom invited us over but said we had to find our own way there. I had told her anyway that we'd be eating here and would come over if we had a ride after we ate dinner. (she was eating the same time we were.) She called us yesterday and was saying something about someone over there could have came to get us if I would have told her we didn't have a way there. So..why did she tell us to find our own way there? We were just like eh, whatever, we're staying home. lol. Anyway, I got Delanie a bunch of dress-up outfits from the Easter Bunny. She LOVES them! The only problem is getting her to wear anything besides them. Haha.

I got an old doctor's bill in the mail for the baby. I called the place who sent it to give them the insurance information.
Her: Are you Delanie?
Me: No, she's my daughter.
Her: You need to fax us some type of verification
Me: -conpletely puzzled- What?
Her: The only person we can discuss this with is Delanie.
Me: She's year old. I'm her MOTHER.
Her: I cannot disclose any information to you.
Me: Um, she's a year old. She can't talk. What do you want me to do? Put her on the phone?
Her: I'm sorry, we cannot disclose any information to you.
Me: Okay, I'll throw a old year old on the phone to talk insurance with you.
Her: Ma'am I cannot disclose any information with you. You need to fax us her birth certificate as verification that you're her mother.
Me: -hangs up-
