So it's about frickin time that Calgary won a game, after that disastrous first game which was a TOTAL RIP OFF btw!!! HE WAS IN THE CREASE!! It should've been called off, but because it was overtime and everyone was excited, they still counted it! :P on them!
And I made my point known at the sports store earlier today. I went in to see if I could order a pink and white Calgary jersey and the one guy (there were three of them) said "Did you check the Hawk's site" and I replied with "About as much as I checked the Habs' site!" and I was regailed with a chorus of "Oooooooooooooooooooo"'s and "I felt that one." LOLS That was the best bit of trash talk I've doled out lately, am very proud of myself! LOL
Anyway, I was thinking of wearing my Calgary jersey today but.... every time I wear it, they lose, everytime I watch a game, they lose... and I didn't watch last night. So instead, I have my little hockey shrine at work; my Kiprusoff mini-stick and my Iggy mini-helmet and figurine. So, hopefully that's enough for now.
In other matters, I shouldn't really be allowed to watch Sean Maher in anything cause it just wakes up the most significant HP fandom RPG character that just seemed to grab hold of my brain. Plus which I find myself hoping that Sean will come to the Toronto Sci-Fi con in August (guests are announced on May 1st)... though, I don't know what I'd say to him, I'd probably just knit him something, mumble something, OR I'd just take off cause I'd be way too nervous to meet him. Plus I'd probably upset Ray-Ray... which I don't want to do, even though Sean is great, Ray is better. I'm like that with everyone at these cons, I was shaking in my boots standing beside James Marsters, I got like, 5 words out when I met Elijah Wood, and I nearly freaked out when I met Juliette Landau... CAUSE SHE'S AWESOME! So I just have to buck myself up and make myself feel cool, even though I'm pretty far off.
So, Saturday, is the Knitter's Frolic in Toronto!! And cause of the ol birthday, I have a nice little frolic fund saved up so I can get:
* Yarn to make the 'Vixen Camisole' in 'Sensual Knits' * Socks that Rock in several colours (hopefully) * Misti Alpaca Sock yarn * Sock yarn to make the 'Viper Pilot' socks! So say we all!!
If I have anything left over, I have no idea what I'd get... if they have roving for spinning, probably some of that, if not, maybe a pair of Addi Turbo needles. Anyway, sorry for the knitspeak and all the random info in this post, but I have to get it out.
If nothing, help me out and cheer 'GO FLAMES GO' for me a little bit?? :*
Well weekend was very eventful, kind of tiring so I'll just give the gist - knitted, ate chinese food, many MANY phone calls, played castle crashers & ate tacos. There!
I'm really proud of myself, I finished the body of a sweater and now I'm on the sleeves. I won't go into more detail cause it's just knitting and I tend to ramble.
Plus I keep forgetting I have a PSP, and when Zack and Miri wouldn't burn, I forgot that I was taught how to compress the files to put them on there... and I keep forgetting that I have the AV cables. How does one get so out of it that they forget they have this wonderful technology? I dunno.
I guess I should ask Buddha for a brain and a bit more common sense on top of the pony and the rocket.
Alright, feeling better today. Not coughing hardly at all, am able to breathe relatively freely, the only bit that's still lingering is the bitter side-effect from the drugs. OH! And I had completely forgot one of the side-effects till mom told me she read them (apparently Nana and I are on the same drugs), this biaxin crap rids your body of good bacteria!!! Gah!! I'm wondering if that's what the bitterness is caused by. So Ray picked me up some of that yoghurt with the active good bacteria in it and I pounded it back and I felt a little better, I was actually able to sleep more than I have in the last week. I'm hoping the side-effects will subside by tonight, but hopefully for sure by tomorrow - cause they suck.
I was going to make that soup yesterday, but of course I had left the ingredients I bought on the lunch hour in the fridge at work. D'OH! So I had leftover pizza, a loooooooooooong nap and was very very cozy in my new socks that Nana made for me!!! *hearts Nana* They're made with the alpaca wool blend yarn that we got at Canadian Comfort Alpacas!! They're this gorgeous dark sagey green colour and there's four columns of cabling, all the way up to my knees and they stay up and are soooooooo warm!!! I love them, I'm wearing them today too cause it's STILL snowing and STILL cold (enough, we get it already, I'm pretty sure we all know we're in Canada so stop with the white flaky hints already).
So, soup tonight and Ray wants me to watch this BBC series called 'Starhunter' (anybody else seen it?) - he says it's British Firefly, before Joss even made Firefly.... and for some reason he keeps saying that it seems like Joss ripped off the entire series and just changed a few things. I refuse to think that Joss isn't a genius, so I've just been tuning that bit out. But that's probably what we'll be watching tonight, even though I want to crack open our steelbook edition of BSG Season 3 to watch over again before we get Season 4 to watch (which I haven't seen yet) - it's cool though because S4 comes with 'Razor' which was a standalone, flashback, alternate scenario on the Pegasus. It was wicked and I'm so glad it comes with the season so I don't have to buy it seperately.
Hmmm, I'm rambling aren't I? I probably won't get any comments either, as I haven't been getting very many lately... here and there. As much as it may seem so, I'm not fishing for comments, I'm just observing.
I hope you all have a great day and stay warm and to all my American friends, I'm sure you'll be watching Obama's inauguration, so enjoy and look forward to some change. :)
Wow, great TV on last night!! I had some nice supper alone while Ray was at work getting things ready for the President of Toys R Us visiting the store today.
But my god...the OC!! I won't divulge too much because I know a few people haven't watched, or a few who do watch are in another country and haven't seen all of what's happened in Season 3...wait till the end, it's a big one! So I don't want to ruin anything, specially for rinnuninnu...hon, just watch till the end of season 3 and then come back to this post!! For those of you up to date or just want to watch, go to ctv.ca and click on the 'Broadband Network' link when it shows The OC as an option, and you'll be taken to the newest episode to watch in a few different parts! It's worth it, especially since Ben MacKenzie got REALLY HOT! I couldn't believe it, I was never really a Ryan girl but I have to admit, whatever he did to himself on hiatus, was good...goodgoodgood!! He was a little skinnier, less-boyish, and he had Jake-scruff and phew....nice! AND in true OC fashion, they played a song that I want more than anything. It's called 'Running up that Hill' by Placebo...and I have no way of getting it cause my stupid limewire was screwing up the computer...so it had to be deleted. If anyone has it, I'd be very appreciative to receive it.
ETA: thank you to slashfairy for sending me the song, there's a link to it in the comments for anyone else. Also, looks like CTV is airing NEXT WEEK'S episode on the broadband link....so I've sent them an e-mail asking where the premiere went to, hopefully it's around somewhere.
Anyway, Grey's was great and Alan Tudyk was on CSI last night!!! Very good, very creepy and you almost didn't want to watch because you're thinking 'Oh my god Wash, what's up!' lol
But, there's some other fun things coming up but it's really not that important; a shopping trip, making a yummy italian pastry with Mom & Nana and yes, another shopping trip! That's it. Happy Friday everyone!
I've been okay, just plugging along. Not really a whole lot of excitement :) I've been knitting a lot and I've gotten into spinning too (spinning yarn, not spinning like on a bike, lol - but I…
