Heya everyone! I'm just dropping by with a small request. This goes out to all RPers out here!
Is there anyone here who likes to RP and would be interested in taking up any Dogma characters in the RP _catchphrase_? I'd especially want to find a Bartleby (as I have Loki right now), but anyone would be great!
The premise of the game is simple. Basically, all the barriers between the worlds have combined. In terms of Loki's place in this, he's based post movie, but he's been been restored to pre-movie, with only faint memories of the contents of the film. Confusing much?
Anyway, come check it out and see what you think! ^^
Hope I'm not breaking any rules with this! |

I just found this community, and I've been looking for more communities to join :) Ok, first of all..Dogma was filmed in my hometown of Pittsburgh..Yeah, the hockey playing goons of Azrael's are from here...The nun Loki talks into being not a Catholic is from here..SHES LADY ABERLANE FROM MR. ROGERS NEIGHBORHOOD! And the goon with the beanie cap? Yeah, his Godmother is my friend :) She's a hairdresser at Phillip Pelusi hair salon. The building where Loki and Bartleby commit homicide in the name of God? Downtown Pittsburgh :)
FYI- I was baptised Catholic, but we left the church due to conflicts with the "dogma." ;) |

Hi my name is Ducky. I love the movie "Dogma". I actually got in trouble once because my friend Candace and I did the scene between Loki and Bartleby when they first find the piece of newspaper, saying they have a chance to go home. We performed it in our high school theatre class. It was awesome.
I think it is awesome that God's human form was played by Bud Cort. He played Harold in "Harold and Maude" which is another one of my favorite movies.
I actually watched "Dogma" twice last night on Comedy Central I love Kevin Smith movies. "Dogma" is my favorite with "Mallrats" as a close second.

Well I'm not sure how appropriate this is since what I'm about to advertise is competition for this journal, but since this one is hardly ever updated, I thought I'd start a new one that might have a bit more activity. Come check out dogmafans! |

So thrilled that their Loki figure is Drunken!Loki, as he is so adorable as a crazy drunken bastard. Although I would have preferred it had we been able to carry him around in full T-shirt-and-hoodie dress. Either or.
Rest of the images can be viewed here.

Just a note on the inaction figs, taken from News Askew:
:: Also on a different note, do you know if "Chasing Amy" figures will come out after "Mallrats" or will it go out of order?
It's gonna go out of order. "Dogma" is after the "Mallrats" figs.
I don't know about you guys, but I for one can't wait. |

I've noticed that we don't post here too often, so I have an idea - why not do some fanfic writing, along the lines of "the fanfic 100?"
Meaning: somebody pics a topic and we each write a story on that topic - and the story must be 100 words.
What do y'all think? |

Hi all, Wabbit here. Kevin Smith fan extrordinare! We have all of his stuff on DVD - gotta love it. I especially enjoyed Dogma - as much for what I don't like about western religion as for why I like being "Pagan." *grins*
As for the current thread: This community needs some life injected into it!
So who's everyone's favorite character and what's your favorite scene?
My favorite would have to be Metatron - not only for the great lines he has (and delivered in that very velvety British voice that Alan has - Drooool!) but also for the fact that he injects some tenderness into the scenes with Bethany when he's talking about the bad points of being the Voice of God.
Favorite scene? Hmmm, where to begin? *grins* Well, the scene with Loki talking to the Nun at the beginning was priceless! Metatron's opening scene with Bethany was good too. I loved it when Loki is carving the onion up into one little vodoo doll, and later on comes up with that corny line - "...but I do believe in THIS!" And, of course, Alanis as God! Excellent stuff, especially seeing God turning cartwheels and standing on her head in the Garden at the end.
Favorite Lines: "No pleasure, no rapture, no exquisite sin greater than Central Air!" "You Don't celebrate your faith, you Mourn it!" "The VOICE!" "The APOSTLE!" "Stop staring at me like that, people will think I'm breaking up with you!" "Did you have to use the whole bloody CAN!?" "Do you always cover your guests in flame retardant chemicals? It's no wonder you're SINGLE..."
There are many more fave lines, but that's a good start. It's nice to see this community here! |
