Very good day

Good TIMES today. I'm so happy.

Harvey's "Party", which was more of a picnic which was more of a random conglomeration of some of the upper echelon of the BHS Class of '08. Meaning we gathered at the pavilion at Condit around a tiny grill making hamburgers and proceeded to play half-assed but still hilarious games of hopscotch (which, at that point, consisted of me and a bunch of guys), 4 Square, soccer, kickball, hacky sack, basketball, out-of-water chicken/pony races, and lots of snackages. I myself brought brownie cookies and they were a major it.

Fun times seeing Vlad, Kyle, Harvey, Carolyn (briefly, she wasn't really allowed to be there but she lives like, half a block from where we were), Daniel, Jenny, Sharief, Anindya, Raymond, Vicky, etc. etc. Kickball was awesomecakes, and even though my team lost, no one was poor sports about it and OMG we can be competitive AND sportsmanlike? IMPOSSIBLE.

Just gooooood times, for real. Had a delicious hamburger, a banana, Welch's Fruit Snacks, two clementines and I almost-but-didn't dive into a HUGE apple. Seriously, it was the size of my head.

And yes, it was 50 degrees outside, but it was still awesome.

Abandoned them for home around 3:00, crashed on the couch, then woke up and got ready for another party, Young Life Alumni party in Pearland at one of our leaders' houses. He has one of the cutest babies on the planet. Seriously. Got lost twice trying to navigate 288 and twisty stupid neighborhoods.

MAPQUEST,

YOU TOTALLY BETRAYED ME. But Google Maps is even worse, so I guess I'll forgive you for the next time I need directions.

Grudgingly,
Me

Wore my brand-spankin'-new Martha jacket, aka a maroon leather jacket that I think looks pretty damn spiff if I may say so myself. Flattering, warm, comfortable and totally leather-y-smelling. At the party we had a 'crappy' white elephant, I came away with three peppermints, 50 cents (in quarters, which I was quite grateful to receive) and a mini Snickers bar. Considering I gave away a 24 piece puzzle, some bubbles, two candy canes and a yo-yo, it wasn't a bad haul. Especially since Kellie Rodekohr had to take away a disgusting crap DVD titled Santa Conquers The Martians and oh dear sweet Jesus in a purple prom dress, it looked about as terrible as it sounds.  I think the budget MIGHT have been $2,000. Max. ANYway, got home from that in record time (15 minutes, holy shit the people I was following were booking it) and popped 'round Liz's to show off my duds.

That went over well, I think. Saw my surrogate puppy, who was looking at me forlornly once she smelled Scout (the leader's dog) on me, like, "YOU CHEATED ON ME?" Huggled Katie and Liz and watched old school Justice League and Superman and thangs and it was good tiems as well.

:D

Happy Darienne is happy.

Last minute Darienne also needs to buy moar presents.

Well, I'm off to -maybe- finish Playing James. It's turning out better than I expected, mostly because it's so funny on the narrative side.
