Greetings Miami Hip-Hop fans:
Let me introduce myself. My name is Humpty, pronounced with a Umpty. Yo ladies, oh how I like to hump thee. And all the rappers in the top ten--please allow me to bump thee. I'm steppin' tall, y'all,
sorry guys. If you didn't know who that was. It's the digital underground with their one hit wonder song "The Humpty Dance". Anyways, My name is Harold and I live in Homestead. Friends call me Mangu and this one girl called me "Babe". Hmm.. I saw this community and I just had to join it. I have several of question to ask you question on the actual meaning to Hip-Hop.
1. What is Hip-Hop?
2. What makes Pitt-bull Hip-Hop?
3. What makes Trick-Daddy Hip-Hop?
4. What are some local hip-hop artist that you know from Miami?
Hip Hop is a cultural movement expressed through the tradional elements of deejaying, emceeing, various forms of dance (breaking, popping, locking) and writing (graf art). As a culture, hip hop represents other aspects of culture as well such as language, style of dress, politics, etc. Hip hop is life!
Rap: 1.A weak attempt at music...or poetry...or something...Anyway, it consists of some guy bitchin and moaning about life while another guy makes a 1st grade level beat in the background 2.Absolute proof of the degeneration of our culture
103.5 The Beat will say phrase like "Hip-Hop and R&B"...i hate that because it's not hip-hop.
Pit-bull is not the definition of Miami. Miami is known for 2 Live Crew for that booty shaking and pussy popping. We should really take conceration of what we listen to:
Hip-Hop is: Tribe Called Quest,De La Soul,Mos Def,Talib Kweli,Apathy,Demi-Godz,Non-Phxion,Necro,DeL,and more.
If Pitt-bull talks about getting the girl from the back or have 24 on a truck to be consider Hip-Hop. I should leave from Miami
*Don't take this as a hate column. It's just the way to express how I feel. This is what a community does.
