"I did have trepidation," Sparks admitted about his role. "And this momentary twinge of 'Oh, my God -- what if they think I'm gay?' And I would be a liar if I said that didn't occur. But what makes you a greater person is when you feel that and you go, 'But this is for the better me. This is for the betterment of everybody around me.' "
"I get a lot of crap for saying this, but it's a little bit like kissing a dog, because you don't have any emotional, internal stuff that you [typically] would have when you actually want to be with someone. So, as an actor, it's a unique challenge because you've got to bring it from some place, make it convincing. And I think if I've done that, then that's invaluable."

Soooo....any ideas for the anti-Mikey community? I think we needs some icons.
Also, is this going to be an open community? Right now, it's private and no one can see our posts. What do you guys think?
I guess we could start out by introducing ourselves and sharing the Mikey hate. I'll start. :)
Hi, I'm Leah and I'm a Mikey hater. It's not easy to pinpoint the exact moment when I realized I hated Mikey. He's always been buzzing around like a pesky little insect, so I don't recall the exact moment when my annoyance turned into hate. Most likely, it was a gradual thing. Hal has some extremely annoying mannerisms as an actor (I'm using the term loosely). He mugs for the camera and his range of emotion runs the gamut from A to B. The result is a combination of irritating cutesiness and grating whininess. And I can't stand those googly eyes he makes at Brian in early Season One - not to mention his petulant nastiness to Justin. One of the things I love about S1 is that Justin is clearly so much more mature than Michael. I love Mikey's lesson in table manners where Justin knows all the answers and Michael is revealed to be a complete dolt.
So, what about you? When did you fall in hate with Mikey?
