Wed 1530: Hill's Office

Matt sat and read over the last pieces of the letter and then sealed it to a code that Tink had designed and given he and Hawk the key for. And waited. As usual he didn't have to wait long before the enigma that was their resident Romulan came into the office.

"So Commander, have you put the same pieces together that I have?"

"That we have a founder on our hands." She answered calmly. "From what we gathered in the other universe they created a virus that would have wiped them out, if their Bashir hadn't gotten sympathetic to it."

Matt looked at her for a moment. "No."

He watched her eyebrow move up a carefully considered amount. "Ideals are well and good. But they can get you more than killed in this case, they could counteract everything you are trying to do."

"I have a plan that could potentially solve the issue, but I want to see what the Klingons say to Hawk and Elizabeth first."

He watched her try to puzzle out the plan. After a few moments she sighed. "Very well. Will you at least let sh'Dani start working on the idea so that we have it should the worst happen? It seems a shame to not use the likely intelligence we have about their homeworld's location prior to them knowing we are here."

"It may be a shame, but it wouldn't be right to use that information."

"Right or not, the Federation was nearly destroyed by them, and their space was a lot more cohesive than any coalition you are likely to get."

Matt shrugged. "If we go against the ideals in an attempt to defend them we negate their very existence." He smiled at her. "We have a chance to show one of them the ideals, the good parts, what we are striving towards. If we are to be damned, than let us be damned for what we really are."

t'Nal smiled slightly "Mnhei'sahe." Her statement was simple. He smiled, he wasn't sure a human could actually understand that word, the fact that she used it to reference his stance on this was something he appreciated though. He inclined his head politely to her.

"sh'Dani can start developing it, as long as she also developed an antidote. Agreed?" again she nodded slightly. This woman could definatly give him the creeps.

"Okay then. Let's go to the Science Lab and see how much progress our guest has made."
