Hey darlings,

So the deviantART Mononoke group is having a contest! I posted my entry for it here not too long ago [and I fail and never got back to it, but thank you so much to everyone's lovely and kind words]. As it turns out, the group's run into a bit of a problem because not enough people have entered. I wanted to drop in and encourage everyone to check it out!

The theme is the Medicine Seller in the modern day, which I know I go into fangasming fits over. The entries must be visual art, I think--accepted formats include cosplay, traditional/CG art, and probably anything else you can come up with. Each entry has to have a brief narrative accompaniment about what the Medicine Seller's new adventures are. There are first, second, and third place prizes.

Right now there isn't a newly set deadline, but all other information about the contest is HERE. Please please please check it out. I know this fandom is small, but it's full of such creative and awesome people. ♥

Hello quiet ones!

Plugging Mononoke Oekaki board~

We've got some wonderful art up there and we want more!!

For those who want to enter the contest, I've decided to extend it until the end of July... as some of us were busy with work/school or what not.

I was thinking of holding a second fanart contest -- an oekaki contest. Depending on how much response there is, I may already post more info later on this day.

The idea is like this:
- you'll be able to draw pics on that oekaki board for an entire month
- in the last week every artist choses and submit the best three (or less) he/she made
- showcase and voting to be posted on the first day of the next month on mononoke_anime

Only from June to August!

It's more fun when more people join. So. 8D

ETA: Oekaki board is open for everyone, also non-contenders. It's only a medium to create spiffy art. The contest will be held in this community.

Ok tallied all the votes (wow it was close!! o__o) and the winner is...

grendelity for this piece

Congrats! Here's your banner (sorry I suck at making them ^^;;)

Thanks to everyone who voted and stay turned for the next contest 8D

Ok well I guess its time ^^ Sorry this took so long I was really hoping for a few more entries but I know people are busy so onwards! 8D

Rules
1. Voting ends on Friday, May 9th and winners will be announced after.

Orginally I had the fanart contest ending the first week of April, which technically it did but then hagane_no_mame brought up a good point reminding me that alot of members had school stuff to deal with.  So contest is extended through April 28th now 8D.  To the members who entered just sit tight!

For rules and what not click here

Entries for the Fanart Contest are due this Friday Saturday! April 5th!

Rules, submissions and questions can all be posted HERE

First of all thanks to everyone who voted/commented when I asked about what would this comm prefer fanart or fanfict contest.  All your info was love and it made my job much easier in the end.  Fanart won out but Either Is Fine was close behind so Im sure we'll have a Fanfict contest as well since it appears we might just rotate contests every month so fear not Fanfict writers!

Ok here we go!

Mononoke Fanart Contest #1

Theme: Water (can be lake, stream, rain, etc but water must in somewhere in the pic)

-Our Medicine Seller must be in it but feel free to pair him with someone if you want.
-All entries must be new!  Nothing that has been posted here or DA will be allowed.
-Submit all entries here (will be screened) and in url or thumbnail formation!  Im not giving a size limit but dont make it too big.
-Entries are due Monday April 28th so you have nearly 3 weeks to work on it, figured Id give more time then for an icontest since the muse doesnt always hit right away.
-Any questions ask here, Ill unscreen them.
-Have fun and be creative, we have some of the best fanartist Ive seen in any fandom, lets do MS justice!
-1 entry per person (added after chibikaya asked about it)

btw @ other mods, I added a contest tag for this and possible other non-icontest contest use.
