What I Saw Beyond the Early Start – Part Two
This is the continuation from Part One.
The same happened with English, which I mentioned before.
I was terrible at English, stumbling from basic roman letters, and always failing in school.
I only started learning seriously after turning 30.
That’s why I wanted my daughter to avoid the same struggles.
I created an English environment at home, and she grew up speaking naturally.
But one day she suddenly said, “I don’t need English,” and I had no choice but to accept it.
The same was true with other lessons.
Piano, acrobatics, voice training—I signed her up for everything.
But now I realize, being “a little faster than others” doesn’t really matter in the long run.
If you raise a baby in an English-only environment, they may indeed speak early.
But if it’s not what they truly want, they will reject it sooner or later.
What a child truly desires is the path they are meant to walk.
Of course, I don’t mean parents should do nothing.
I simply feel that an early start is not everything—this is what I’ve learned from 11 years of being a mom.
My own mother tried to control me even when I was in my 20s and 30s.
That’s why I was able to realize early how foolish it is to force things on my daughter.
How about you?
Are you forcing something onto your child?
Children have the right to live their own lives.
This is something parents must never forget.
