Research of walking

生き物が生きるうえでの基本的な行動単位である「歩く」を通して葛尾村をとらえた過程を作品にしました。村内を歩く間中編み続けた毛糸を自分が歩いた感覚的な長さを記録する媒体として捉えた作品と、楮で作った支持体を地面に敷きその上を歩くことで葛尾村の地面を写しとった作品を制作しました。
使用した毛糸は村内にあるニット工場で余ったものを使用し、制作中の様子や歩いた道などは、映像記録とドローイングとして展示しました。また、楮の作品は村内の計九か所を歩き、土地の土や草木などを写しとりました。
私がずっと制作の主軸においているものは「生き物」です。自らを生き物として捉え、生き物のかたちを残すように、歩いた記録を作品にしました。

This work captures the process of experiencing Katsurao Village through the act of walking, the basic unit of movement for living creatures. It is composed of two pieces. One I knitted while walking through the village, using the yarn as a medium to record the perceived length of my journey. The other is a canvas made from kōzo washi paper that I laid on the ground and walked on to imprint the ground of Katsurao on it.
The yarn was surplus material from the knit factory in Katsurao. I exhibited video recordings and drawings of my creative process and the paths I walked. To make the washi piece, I walked around nine locations in the village, making imprints of the earth and vegetation at each.
The central theme of my work has always been living things. I created this work to preserve the shape of myself as a living thing through records of my walks.

2003年生まれ。大阪府出身。東京藝術大学 絵画科油画専攻 学部4年在学中。 私たち人間が生き物として、生き、作品を作るという事を見つめながら、動物をモチーフに立体作品やインスタレーションを制作。
