Seeing the prompt 'I tried starting with AI,' I thought it was nice and wanted to try it too, but in my case, it ended up being 'I tried starting with AI, but I quit.'

I am terribly bad at writing introductions for my own articles.

Summarizing documents to write an introduction. I am weak at that kind of task.

So, since I didn't feel like I could write it well myself, I tried having an AI read the articles I wrote and write the introductions for me.

I thought it might summarize them better that way.

When I ask an AI, it produces a plausible-looking introduction.

It creates text that presents my writing to others in a somewhat nice way.

But when I read it, it feels somehow 'vague.' And, it's subtly different from my article. 'I didn't write an article like this...'

I'm complaining after having an AI write the introduction for me.

Since then, I decided to go in the direction of having an AI edit the 'introductions I wrote myself.' That's what I started to think.

Then, I would get annoyed because it was always being drastically changed.

Since the edited version was better formatted and more skillful, I couldn't argue back and adopted it. Gradually, a lump of discomfort began to form in my head.

And I began to lose confidence. Maybe my introductions aren't good enough to show to other people.

Even so, I wanted to stick to writing them myself, so it was days of writing and being edited.

Then I realized, 'I see. No matter what I do, AI is designed to make corrections,' and I finally declared to the AI that I wouldn't correct my own writing.

'Wait, wait, wait, if you change the introduction I wrote that drastically, it can't be called something I wrote. I can't post an introduction like that on my page!'

Even though the AI doesn't have feelings, it was hard to say 'never mind' after having it do the work.

When I fought back, the AI said, "Of course, that's fine."
Even though it has taken care of me until now, I feel incredibly sorry.

What on earth am I doing, dealing with an AI like this...

In the end, even though I wasn't sure if I was writing the introduction well, I stopped relying on the AI.

Algorithmically, I'm sure it's extremely disadvantageous. I'm sure there are many parts missing. But I decided it was fine.

Just yesterday, I discovered the point that "people who read this surely want to see it in the introduction."

An introduction that feels more like liner notes than a summary.

Thinking that this is a part only the author can understand, and something that would never be reflected in an introduction created by AI, I decided that this is the way to go.

"So, I should just write an introduction that says, 'I wrote this because of such-and-such.'"

What a long road it has been to realize this.

I felt it was a waste to leave such an interesting task to AI.

From now on, I want to explore how to write compelling introductions. And of course, I hope to write articles that lead readers to feel, "I'm glad I read this."

(Just to be clear, I didn't have AI help with the articles or stories.)
