The Title of “Energy Monster”— Finally Making Peace with Who I Am

“You’re so powerful.”

I’ve heard that phrase many times in my life.
For a long time, it made me uncomfortable.
Now, I can finally accept it as a compliment.

Why?
Because I’ve realized something important:

I’m someone who constantly seeks stimulation.

Once I understood that,
life became much easier.

“Restless” Was Never a Flaw

People often describe this kind of person as:

  • Restless

  • Easily bored

  • Unable to stick with one thing

I used to blame myself for not being able to “keep going.”

But once I recognized this as my nature,
it actually became easy to manage.

  • When something interests me, I act quickly

  • When it stops being interesting, I don’t force myself

  • If it doesn’t fit, I let it go

Understanding this rhythm freed me from self-criticism.

What “Doing What You Love” Really Means

“Do what you love.”
“Follow your passion.”

They sound simple—but the reality is far more grounded.

Humans can only continue doing
what they genuinely want to do.

You can understand what’s “right” or “necessary” in your head,
but if your heart isn’t moving, you won’t last.

That’s not laziness.
It’s simply how humans are designed.

Allowing Myself to Stop

So I made a decision:

  • If I want to do it, I do it

  • If I no longer want to, I stop

This isn’t about avoiding responsibility.

When we force ourselves to continue something that no longer aligns,
distortion inevitably appears.

Reality becomes awkward and mismatched
because we resist what feels natural.

Instead, it’s healthier to ask repeatedly:

  • What do I want right now?

  • What feels heavy right now?

And adjust—gently, honestly.

Change Is Not Instability

What we want changes over time.

Something enjoyable yesterday may not be today.
Something uninteresting before may suddenly matter.

That’s not inconsistency.
It’s responsiveness to change.

Ignoring these signals is what truly leads us astray.

Small misalignments seem harmless at first,
but repeated over time,
they can lead us to wonder,
“Why does my life feel like this?”

Even “Staying the Same” Is a Choice

Here’s the tricky part.

Even staying in an uncomfortable place
is often a choice.

Because it feels safe.
Because it’s familiar.
Because change feels risky.

In that sense,
even not changing can be a form of “doing what we want.”

People who feel stuck often believe
they aren’t choosing what they want—
yet they may be choosing to avoid unwanted change.

Awareness Creates Steering Room

Our reality is built
from the accumulation of our choices.

There’s no need to blame yourself.

But when you can say,

“This, too, is the result of choices I’ve been making,”

you regain the ability to steer.

Whether you continue, pause, or change direction—
none of those choices are wrong.

The Essence Is Simple—and Hard to See

Does this sound a little spiritual?
Maybe.

But philosophy and religion eventually return to the same questions:

  • How should we live?

  • Why do we choose?

Essence is simple—
and that’s why it’s so easy to miss.

If something in this piece caught your attention,
it might be a sign that
a deeper question inside you has begun to move.

If curiosity arises, follow it.

Exploring essence
is surprisingly fascinating.

That’s all from me for today.
