Update 4th May: New membership is now open. To join, you must click the join link on this page, ASWELL as send me an e-mail at package_gang@yahoo.com letting me know your name, username and stating that you have clicked the join button. If you do not do this, and simply click join - your request will be rejected. I hope to start monthly (or maybe every two months) package swaps where whoever signs up for it will be randomly matched with someone else and they will exchange a package, then for the next month, a new partner is assigned.
I will pair everyone up with a "package buddy", someone that you will exchange packages with on a fairly regular basis. Once you decide to become a member, I will email you a short survey asking you about your hobbies, collections, interests etc. and also your mailing address. Once you have the survey filled out, return it to me and I will pair you up with a "buddy" and you will be added as a member of the community. Your mailing address will only be known by me and your package buddy- no one else will know it. Once you're paired up, send as many packages to your buddy as you want. Please be sure to keep your buddy clued in as to what's going on- i.e. package was sent and returned and is being remailed or you're deciding to leave the community.
There are a few guidelines I'd like people to follow just so things are fair and balanced out:
1. Packages should be a minimum of $5.00 and a maximum of $10.00 before shipping costs. If you and your buddy decide to spend more on each other, that's up to you.
2. Packages should be sent equally. If you receive one, send one back.
3. You're free to leave the community at any time. But, please make sure you leave after the number of packages sent between you and your buddy is even.
4. If you don't send packages in return, you will be banned from the community.
5. Once you receive a package, post the contents of the package in the community journal so we can all read about what you got.
6. If you decide to leave the community, please let me know you are leaving so I can make other arrangements for your buddy, if necessary.
To streamline the process a bit, surveys will be sent out as you request to join. Once it's emailed back to package_gang@yahoo.com and you are matched up, you will be added as a member so you can post your survey.
Once you have posted your survey, I will be adding it to the Package_gang memories so your buddy can go back and look it up if they need to.
