I remember living, eating, and breathing this album when I lived with my first live-in boyfriend. It was over, and I was dreading moving out. This is so indicative of that relationship. He was so new age, and I thought that meant that he loved the Goddess, or he could see the Goddess in me. He was only interested in what his "Guides" told him and he pressed me to follow the same path as he did. I tried, but you can only go so far down a road that isn't yours. 
The most liberating thing about this passage, is that if "she" is crucifying herself, she can damn well stop. She can free herself from those chains that her heart is in, she can love herself, give herself whatever she's not getting, and finally "Get off the Cross" (Big Wheel).
