Saw this on www.youtube.com and loved the music and troupe.
If you know the music/artist and the dance troupe, please post.
Thanx!

My wife and I are on the mailing list for Greek Music Superstore in Manhattan - http://www.greekmusic.com/ .

A couple of years ago, they offered a 4 CD package of music by Gus Vali, which we bought.

It ended up being 5 CDs, one of them a 2 disc set, including -

*Belly Dance Navel Academy*, with the songs given Greek names.

*Let's Belly Dance*, a 2 CD set, including that album, and *Navel Academy vol 2*, with the original song titles.

The other 2 albums were not bellydance related - *51 Golden Dance Songs of Greece*, and *Mediterranean Love Affair*, an instrumental soft jazz album with Vali on soprano sax, with his 2 sons.

Anyway, I checked their site again about a year after we got the set, and they were gone already.

My hunch is that they missed their audience, by marketing to a Greek crowd rather than a bellydance crowd.

Perhaps, if Greek Music Superstore heard from some bellydance fans, they might be persuaded to reissue at least the bellydance sets, and then let us know about it... This is the best place I can think of to find possible Gus Vali fans, so if this sounds interesting, you might consider contacting them with a bit of low-key, gentle, abject pleading to bring Gus Vali back.
