I went to see PotC on Monday. Quite cool, of course, even if I prefer the first one. There are long sequences that aren't really necessary to the plot, but they were funny, so that's ok. The whole native thing, for instance, didn't have much point and was just a pretext for funny stuff. Johnny is unbeatable, of course. But I gotta say that I LOVE Norrington!

Apparently, my conscience doesn't allow me to watch 2 movies for the price of one anymore. I could easily have watched another movie, but I felt bad about it. This really sucks, because it was more economical that way. I'll see if my conscience is on a roll or if it was just a one time thing. Afterall, it was late and I was getting tired.

J'ai découvert un jeu de Mastermind hier sur internet et j'ai passé ben trop de temps à jouer... ah, the memories!

Before I go, can anyone explain this fad to me? Those shoes are sooooo ugly! I could understand wearing them to work in your garden. The beach is even borderline. And I see tons of people wearing them in the street. WHY??!!! Are they that comfortable?

I'm wearing a thong for the first time in my life. I used to be highly sceptikal (I had to look up that word in the dictionary) about their comfortability. Now, I know they are not comfortable. I just don't get it. Who wants to have a string cramping up your ass all day long? Who wants to pay for a permanent wedgie? Plus, you pay for nothing, cause there's almost nothing at all. I agree that they can be practical if you wear tight pants and don't want people to see the lines of your underwear, but I think I prefer the lines to this thing. If you're wearing a thong, you would be better not wearing anything at all. The look is the same, but it's much more comfortable. Oh, and I gotta say, I've never liked when girls wear low-cut jeans and you see the little triangle over their jeans. Not pretty. No offense if you do that... just really not my thing.

On a totally different subject, I'm loving the weather today. It's sunny and crisp outside. I feel like going for a walk in a forest, but I gotta work. Oh, and while I was coming back from the groceries, I saw a gift shop that had a soap bubbles maker in front of the store. So cute. Bubbles were floating everywhere. It made me all happy.

btw, some of you are not updating enough lately... :(

Back to the Future

Apparently, fashion repeats itself every 20 years. I know it's true now, but it hasn't always been true, right? I mean, people from the 70's surely didn't dress like people in the 50's , dit they? Or maybe I'm missing something. (btw, how do we call the decade we're living in right now?)

I thought we all agreed that 80's fashion sucks. I thought we all agreed that fishnet stockings, fluorescent colors and geometric black and white patterns were an obscenity that should never be seen again. But they're back. What happened? It seemed that not so long ago, people my age were looking at their elementary school pictures thinking: how could I have worn such a thing?

How did this happen? How does this work? In my head, fashion designers had a little conversation that went something like this:
- So, what will be "in" this year?
- Well, I don't know. I'm all out of original ideas.
- Yeah, me too. Oh, I know! Let's bring back all of the things we did in the 80's.
- But weren't those very ugly?
- Yeah, but, you know, kids are so stupid, they'll won't notice. They'll just think it's all new and original.

And then, the older generation saw what the kids were wearing and thought: you kids think you're so original! but guess what: we were wearing the exact same thing 20 years ago! And they dug in their closets and got everything back.

Fashion repeats itself every 20 years. In ten years from now, people will be wearing grungy type clothes à-la Kurt Cobain. And kids from today who will have grown up will probably be looking at their old pictures thinking: what the hell was I thinking?
