Since I have not posted in 40 weeks and yet just renewed my paid membership, I figured it's about time I said something.

So hello LJ!

I am now in New Zealand. It's cold and quiet but comforting in that awww my mum is fussing over me way.

One thing I have noticed about NZ since I have been back.

There is absolutely NOTHING on TV.

N O T H I N G

Since my 2nd day here I don't think I've even bothered turning it on. I am reduced to lots of reading and going to bed at 9 pm.

Although boring, its probably very therapeutic :o)

Will be back in the lovely TV abundant US of A in August. Just in time for DragonCon.

8.38 am am woken by hubby running into bedroom in a fuck-we-are-really-late-for-work panic

i had been half awake and kept looking at the clock too but for some reason my brain was registering 7.38, which always means 5 more minutes. (and i was having a really pleasant dream too)

8.56 am left apartment

9.20 am got out of train at 59th St & Lexington, got on very steep escalator with huge crowd of people just as another train enters station.

whereby huge rush of air causes dress to blow right up a la marilyn monroe except not even slightly sexy, just mortifying to the point of i want to die right now.

- why oh why did i wear such a short dress?

- and why oh why did i wear the horrible lime green knickers?

and stupid biatch behind me is laughing her ass off.

9.24 am still tightly clutching bottom of dress walk up subway stairs to see my bus pulling away.

start ten block trek to 70th street.

halfway there i realize there is something icky in my hair.

it is toothpaste.

not down the ends where conceivably it got there when i spat after brushing this morning, it is right up at the roots over my right eye. how in the hell?

9.36 am got to work.

HUZZAH!

looks like i lucked out coz my boss isn't here yet

bossy coworker is out today

and my nice gay superviser left last week and the chick covering for him doesn't give a crap what we do  AND is letting us leave early. YAY!!!!!!!!!

so crappy friday morning will at least having a happy silver lininged afternoon!

Have a Happy Weekend full of Much Non Labor!

1)   After going to four different Bath & Body Works stores, I finally tracked down my current object of olfactory lusting, the covetted eau de toilette of Sea Island Cotton which apparently smells of "pure white cotton flowing in fresh ocean air" and in actual fact kind of does.

In any case, it is very pleasant and I have been trying to find it for the last week. Each time i didn't find it, i bought something else in the same fragrance. So I am now the proud owner of 1 x antibacterial hand lotion, 1 x 8 oz body lotion, 1 x anti bacterial flowing hand soap, 2 x 4 oz body lotions, 1 x body splash and 2 x 15 oz eau de toilettes of the perfume in lieu of the 50 ml which i wanted (I had to buy 2 x mini perfume/body lotion gift sets).

 Anyhoo i count that as a success and i hope i don't get sick of the smell any time soon.

Today is mine and hubby's 4th year wedding anniversary.

In the passive aggressive aftermath of last night's "disagreement", we have decided to celebrate this auspicious occasion by not speaking to each other.

In the immortal words of Pat Benatar, love is truly a battlefield. sigh...
