My thoughts are in Bold

So this is what I have been reading about the most lately. When I get something in my head.. A question or somthing.. that is what I will study.. and lately it has been the differences between the God of the Old Testament and the God of the New Testament. Let's face it...they are really freaking different. The OT God is violent and vengeful and hateful and the NT God is loving and full of forgiveness.

In my reading I have found that there are two explanations for this.. One.. is from "Mainstream" Christianity claims that they are the the same God. And gives many "excuses" for why they are so different. To me.. that is all they are.. excuses. No one knows for sure. Everyone has their opinions. But to me.. it sounds like they are grasping at straws.
The other explanation is from "Gnostic" Christianity. They believe that the reason they are so different is because they are two completely different beings.

Here is some of what I have been reading..

In my opinion.. the Gnostic reasoning makes more sense..

THE ENCHANTED COUNTRY.

Open the door to the enchanted country....find a soft road...full of little color stones...
see a lot of flowers with different colors...smell their perfume...listen the songs of birds...fly with us.
Walk again...climb up the rainbow...play in the sky between the clouds. ..find your friends.
We are happy.. find other children...and smile them ...they smile you.We feel so happy
I say good bye all of them. WE return to the road...with the little color stones...Close the door to the enchanted country.AND KEEP THE KEY IN YOUR POCKET FOR RETURNING WHEN YOU WANT..NOW , COME BACK TO YOUR ROOM...OPEN YOUR EYES AND RELAX.

Has anybody seen The Secret?

Just curious -- it sounds sorta like spirituality disguised as professional / personal development. On the flipside, I guess all professional / personal development derives from some aspect of spirituality, so it makes sense.

They charge $30 for the DVD, but only $5 to watch it online. Can't get it on Netflix, so I'm wondering if anybody has paid the $5 / $30 and thinks it's worth it.

Hello,

I'm doing some research for a theatrical production on creation stories. I was wondering if anyone here had a unique, new, or different account of the creation, as it pertains to your spirituality that you would be willing to share with me!

Thanks so much--hope to hear from you.

i am unsure where this post should go, so apologies if it is in the incorrect place!

I hope this makes sense, but it has just happened and I am excited!

Once when i was shuffling my Faeries Oracle i relaxed my eyes as normal (soft focus), and my vision started to get a little cloudy.

Today I was playing with my Boji Stones. Holding one in each hand, i move them towards and away from each other to feel their energy (like magnets).

i kept doing this and the bottom of my vision went slightly cloudy again, then it moved to the bottom and sides. Then i could see the movement of the bojis, sort of an after picture (like in slow motion) or i saw the energy.

then my whole vision was about to go cloudy, but it dried out my eyes so much that i had to blink a few times to come out of it! it felt amazing though!

What was happening? Was I seeing the first layer of my aura? Or do I need an eye checkup (i tried staring with relaxed eyes, but no cloud!)

Hello, and welcome to spirit_resource! This is a place to share our experiences with each other, our spiritual journeys, and also resources that anyone would be interested in using to help them find their path.
I began creating my own religion, Sitakaliism, when I was fourteen. My search for a spiritual path led me to understand myself better, and in so doing, brought me out of a deep depression.
It started with a book (actually a series) that I read, that had a large Hindu influence, although it also had amounts of other religions as well. It inspired me to do spiritual research for myself.

I have a very pagan-influenced spirituality. I took my ideas from many different religions, and left out what I didn't like. I agree with the Buddhist philosophy that everyone must find their own path. I believe that getting rid of depression relies on what’s in us, not what’s outside, and no one can claim an outside source “saved” them. We have great potential, and there’s no telling what we can do if we use our minds to the extent that we can. I have a very positive view of humanity, but at the same time I'm a realist, and I'm aware of the horrors that we're capable of. I'm actually very good at science, and very scientific, and at the same time I believe there is something more to the universe than its parts. I have a generally very holistic view of the universe and the way things are, which is actually a part of new scientific theories that are coming about (ones that dismiss a lot of Newtonian ideas about the "mechanistic" way in which the universe functions). The more spiritual, supernatural part of my spirituality has a lot to do with mythology, and I use it more symbolically than actually believing it literally. My "gods" are aspects of the universe; they aren't individual supernatural beings unto themselves.
When it comes to my morals, a lot of them are summed up by the Unitarian Universalist Principals.

Well I thought I'd hopefully get a ball rolling :) because this sounds like a great idea for a community and it would be wonderful to write/read about spirituality.

I was going to write an introduction, that seemed to make sense, but I'm not sure if there's anyone reading it. I'd love to hear from anyone so if you're likewise interested, feel free to comment :)

Hope there are more people here!
