Ban waves.
Fundamentally ban waves at this point leave regular players constantly facing cheaters in every match for weeks if not months. Some other system needs to be put in place, i would love to see immediate bans upon detection. But daily bans for everyone caught cheating would also work. Or hardware ban every cheater if you are going to stick with simple ban waves that leave players facing cheaters for weeks if not months.

At the end of the day the way it is being handled now just hurts the players, and something needs to change.

Ban waves is what we had with EAC, and back then you had some posts about cheaters.
But now you have noticeably many posts and about blatant cheaters.
This is EA decision making, for them it is a good decision because they no longer pay for EAC.
For the playerbase it is what you see.
Blatant cheating instead of just "hack"usations.
Random crashes.
Noticeably more posts about false bans, while cheating is exploding and has never been like this, not even just before the Linux ban.
If this game is not fun anymore it's simple.
There are other games.

You're missing the point of the post. I'm not here to debate corporate decision making or specific OS bans. My focus is entirely on the player experience right now. Ban waves simply take too long, and regular players shouldn't have to face blatant cheaters for weeks on end while waiting for a ban wave.

well if they ban right away then the other cheaters will find out and change what they are doing and not get banned
Right, but the current situation means that we play against constant cheaters for weeks if not months. So I don't think ban waves are a working solution.

the obvious cheaters get banned pretty fast, the ones trying to hide it are the ones usually it takes longer for.
Pretty sure they are only doing ban waves, when was the last time you saw a ban notification in game? I haven't one in the last 6 months or so....

Other games? Name at least 2 decent one's. I can think of Arc Raiders maybe and upcoming warzone, that's it.

After they changed anti-cheat, i'm noticing blatant cheaters in my games. With EAC i saw maybe 1 or 2 in 6 months maybe. Unplayable in diamond-master lobbies. I can handle ♥♥♥♥♥♥ netcode, unfair matchmaking, but cheater-fest ranked is just too much...
i just play 3 normal lobby game with under 5 kill (even just go down then all team wipe) then i give ban said me cheating wtf...?? :otaznicek:

I guess if you are cheating blatantly maybe they do ban immediately. This is news to me.
Sounds like these cheap Anti-Cheat systems are gonna have to UP their "TECH".

Cheaters infest online games more than ever.

IF AI Anti-Cheat won't be able to effectively detect cheating in REAL-TIME and take immediate action before (or during) an incident.. then online gaming is OVER.

Relying on players to report "suspected cheaters" after the fact it happened, is FUTILE.
The current system is like putting a band-aid on a broken arm every few weeks and hoping it will fix itself. Maybe try hardware banning players purchasing accounts, boosts and carries. Hardware ban cheaters on first detection. Try actually doing anything.
