Is there a way to add the block I'm looking at to my hotbar?
So I'm building from the blueprint, but unfortunately, one of the parts is not being "ghosted" and I'm having to build it manually.

Just to make things easier, I'd like a way to go to the previous one (it's a wheel) and just add it to my hotbar so I can just build it myself.

Is there either a way to do this vanilla, or, a mod that handles that?

Thank you!

Yes, find the block in question and drag it to the hotbar, if the block is in a group with the plus sign click that and then in the right side will show you the list then drag the desired block to the hotbar, this will prevent any scrolling.

Lol. I meant without hitting 'g' and searching. I mean, where my cursor is pointing, some hotkey that allows me to automatically add the block I'm currently looking at to my hotbar, or, if it's already there, swap TO that block.

Or, something like a 'copy' where I can click a hotkey that changes the item in my hands to the item I'm looking at.

Something like that.
Not that I am aware of, checking for mods and such yielded no results either.
Dang. Well hopefully someone knows. The ability to at least swap what's in my hands with the block I'm looking at seems like it should be part of Vanilla SE. :(
If you can't weld a wheel it means that there's on the grid that's preventing its placement. Wheels can operate with a block in their full range of motion. Not an issue. But if you try to spawn a wheel on the end of a suspension and there is anything near it.. it won't spawn.

Try removing as many blocks as you can from around the wheel until you can "Add Wheel". Do this for all of your wheels. Blueprint that reduced model and use that to build a "stage one" version of your rover. Once the wheels are built, project the full build of your rover and finish up.

One thing to note is that if you ever lose a wheel, you'll have to remove all of those blocks just so you can add that wheel back.

Do you have any thoughts on the actual question I asked?

Well yes, the answer is no. From what I recall Keen will not allow access to the toolbar via mods for security reasons. Your post was pretty convoluted. I misinterpreted the question.

"Is there a way to add the block I'm looking at to my hotbar?"

.... yeah .... Totally convoluted.

I added context to my situation (the blueprint), then finished my post by asking exactly what the subject line said. "Just to make things easier, I'd like a way to go to the previous one (it's a wheel) and just add it to my hotbar so I can just build it myself."

Sorry but that's not convoluted. o.0

Thank you. That sucks. I really wish there was a "picker" option like there is in so many other games.
They could make a block picker similar to the color picker.
It wouldn't pick blocks you don't have DLC for of course.

There's a feature request for it, but its gotten 1 like per year, so ......

I recognize this feature. Minecraft. It's very intuitive and would fit in nicely with SE. Least I think it would. It takes three steps to do in SE what Minecraft does in one.
Theres actually a plugin you can get with the plugin manager that allows you to hit CTRL + G to copy the block you are looking at (orientation and color also). Its pretty helpful, just look in the plugin list, I think it's called "Block Picker"
Thank you - I'll check it out
Build Vision has this as well. (Ctrl-R by default)
Thanks to you both. I did end up doing the plugin manager and thank goodness for that. Makes everything so much easier.

Sad that a plugin has to do what should already exist in the game. o.0
