they are static voxels, just like the planets, unfortunately no..

you could build a chunky-somewhat-spherical fake asteroid out of armor blocks, stick artificial mass and optionally a spherical grav gen in the midden and fling that

It's not possible to move asteroids within the game itself.

You can reposition asteroids by editing their positions in the game save. There are even utilities like SEToolbox for doing so. But there are limits. Plus most people play with procedural asteroids. Those only become permanent once they are altered and player or grid is permanently located next to or attached to them.

Well..... Since these are your friends .... go get one the old kinetic launcher ships. Mine would launch a 10k floating voxel at a target for fairly massive damage. Voxel damage was then nerfed by Keen, BUT you could still use the concept to absolutely pummel their base without doing any damage. About the same as throwing beach balls at a car.

Rumor is that a full drill will do some major "mass driver" damage. I've used drills as non-explosive torpedo "war"heads and they do pack a punch!

I suggest toilets - in large quantities - along with toasters, so that they would think it was pirates. Did you know that you can build nukes in this game?

I do in fact, but that doesn't sound as funny. I'll consider toilets though.

Then make tow like ship and build storage blocks and fill them with stone, then put explosive and blast storage block when they fall past something like 50-100 meters or just drop them without explosives but with gravity balls. Or make tiny storage blocks and then fill them with toys and drop them on your friends.
Or simple scrap some npc ships, and drop they empty hull by 'accident'.
