single player trash collection settings
where are they? ;o)

coming back from a couple year break.. starting fresh on earth planet.. my cobbled together mining ship crashed about 3.5KM away from my base with a load of gold and iron.

i started to ferry my loot back to base via jetpack. then began carving up the leftovers from the ship. a couple thrusters and a battery cut off and my inventory is full.

jumped back to base to unload and when i got back tothe broken ship, the cut away pieces were gone.
next trip i return to my gps marker to no ship what so ever.

i'd rather do the garbage cleanup myself.. manually.
where can i find the garbage cleanup settings to turn them off?

alt-f10 for admin panel, there's a dropdown menu, one of the options is trash removal settings, as I recall you have to hit "apply" for changes to take effect.

thank you sir!
I do practically all trash cleanup manually, its not that much of a burden to do it every so often and I love happening upon wreckage of ships I lost under remote control but didnt know what happened to them until later. My own immersion rules are if the pieces are small and hidden from normal view I delete them but if they are large sections of ships that I could possibly run into I leave them in the world. I have a large rocket test program that lost a lot of ships early on in reentry, for a long time I thought they completely burned up untill I started finding wreckage.
aye it brings back memories of long forgotten dead ships when we stumble upon our early wrecks o7

You can PING any debris parts of you own with a GPS marker now in vanilla game play. Just get out of any chair/cockpit and go to the K menu. Go to INFO and there is a list of all the grids you have blocks in. The old option was just deleting them. I would manage my own grids using those player accessible options, get batteries and reactors on everything... panels etc... Then trigger the game to manually Get rid of grids that are unpowered and more than 500 meters from the player.

But he likes to happen across them in his travels, i like too do the same, but I spend more time on multi then SP now days, before you could get a gps from the contract block and find grids that way but not anymore, i loved chasing drifting grids tis a shame its no longer a thing todo :(

SP i have loads of abandoned stuff i leave there so i can come back too each planet has a outpost and ship wrecks from battles past XD
