No sound at all
So i haven't had sound at all for a few months now. I don't know for sure but i assume its a directX related issue since i had one recently with another game. Whenever i start the game my Music and SFX sound sliders are reset to zero and will not make any sound even when i slide them back up. And no matter what when i boot up they are reset. If anybody can help let me know what info you might need to help solve my problem. I don't know if this is important or not but this appeared in the log file.

MyAudio.LoadData - END

Found the bad image.

Exception during loading audio engine. Game continues, but without sound. Details: System.BadImageFormatException: An attempt was made to load a program with an incorrect format. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007000B)
at VRage.Audio.X3DAudio.MyX3DAudio.X3DAudioInitialize_(Int32 arg0, Single arg1, Void* arg2)
at VRage.Audio.MyXAudio2.CreateX3DAudio()
at VRage.Audio.MyXAudio2.LoadData(MyAudioInitParams initParams, ListReader`1 sounds, ListReader`1 effects)
I have tried reinstalling directX as stated with no results.

In space, one can still use an Mp3 player.

Also bump, cause I wanna see you get this fixed.
I had a similar issue some time ago. Just suddenly, no sound with the game, although everything else was fine (youtube videos, music). Something may have triggered a corruption to the audio driver. I re-installed the driver and all was then A-OK. Give that a try. It'a a hassle to be quite honest.

Got the lastest driver, no luck.
DirectX is for the rendering of 2d and 3d shapes, it doesn't have anything to do with sound.

Verify game files. if that doest work reinstall the game.
TheAngle,

Did you uninstall the driver and then reinstall it? If not, this is what I meant.

Alright this time i went into the device and uninstalled it entirely before reinstalling it. Still didn't work. Thanks for trying to help though, was a good idea.
We think the problem is caused by a bad X3DAudio file. Please give the directions below a try and see if it helps.
