I'm unable to move or use objects
I know this bug has been around for a very long time, I've already deleted the file that's supposed to fix it by resetting all controls back to default, that did nothing. I've exited the world and re-loaded it, nope. I've shut the game down and re-loaded it, nope. Verified game files, nope. I've done a full reinstall of the game, nope. I load a brand new game, I can't move or interact with blocks (Can't enter a cockpit, can't open storage inventory, etc.) I can open the G menu and select blocks. I can even build in spectator and teleport my floating body around and repair blocks, as long as I port my body close enough. I can mine, if I'm close enough. The reason I'm making the post is because I know this has been frustrating people for a long time now and I wondering if I just keep starting a new game, does it end up working or is there some other way to get past this bug and actually play the game?

It looks to me like you are stuck in spectator/3rdPerson view or your view is reeeealy far out.

Usually with a StarSystem start and landing the rover, press F to get out and the perspective is 3rd person about 3m behind the engineer. Pressing V puts me in 1st person view of engineer.

Pressing V from 1st person view will go to 3rd person view and the distance to engineer is with the middle-mouse scroll.

If you are using spectator mode, press F6 to go back to the non-spectator view.

Edit : Though you say the bug has been around for a long time, this is the first I've heard a complaint about it and I've been here a considerable time.
Search online for Space Engineers can't move. I love when you ask for help and people treat you like you're stupid. I'm not stuck in 3rd person, did you even read my post? lol
I'm not intending to treat you stupid. You didn't say you tried the simpler steps so that's what I went with. Your issue isn't seen by a lot of players that I've seen, and nothing new at Keen's bug list reports about unable to move.

Edit: You tried a new game, but was that with or without mods? I see AWG Convenient Weapon Pack is outdated and might cause issues like this. View distance setting at 30km sometimes does this too.
Hi, that heppened to me a long time ago but I was able to fix.

Share a save where your character can't move, I will load to help you find the Cause with a solution.

-> Just Publish the save on the Workshop and paste the link here when ready.
I am having the same problem. When i started a new game, (to drop on a planet in a pod), once i land, i get out, and am stuck in the air, unable to move or get back in the pod...ive tried starting new games and even verifying the files....nope.... (i do have some mods on, but they are all stable.) can someone help me out? this bug made me avoid the game like the plague!

My offer still stands.

Note
It is very easy to know if it is a Mod problem, we just have to create a brand new world and don't add any Mods to be sure the save file never been modified.

It's a mod issue. I haven't played in a long time and after the issue happened, a couple days later I remembered reading about it being caused by a mod and removing said mod did fix the issue. But that was quite some time ago. Now if I could just remember which mod it was. lol I'll get it figured out. I think it may have been a mod related to MES, but I could be wrong on that. It's been awhile.

It's the "Joy" of playing Modified !

We have to REtest all Mods one at a time in new created world after a game update, to pinpoint the Mods that needs to be updated to the new game version.

My son likes to try all new Mods on the Workshop and I can tell I had to fix our MP world more than 10 times after game updates.

-> The worst are not up to date Modded planets because I have to remove the planet and paste all stations on new planet.

EDIT - Note

in case some don't know me I must specify :

-> I am not a SE Dev but forum Moderator community helper/game tester, also very active player helping the SE community since 2013 because it's my Favorite Sandbox game on Steam, and they gave me the [Dev] Tag so I can be admin of the Workshop to help more.

I recommended to load a copy of your Modded save after a game update.

use Save as + Change save name to create the testing copy.

It is very very important to load a copy because not up to date Mod can corrupt the save file on loading in new/different game version and lose that save.
Heh I was just about to tell you how awesome and unique your game is too. There is nothing like SE really, it's a one of a kind and I was addicted the very first time I played it. I also got to see the extreme side of Klang on my very first game, but using stacked pistons to make an elevator on a Rover can cause him to appear, live and learn. lol

"Klang" is the sound we hear when something breaks and I can tell there is always a solutuion to find but it may not be what we wanted to do first so my advice is to keep testing and trying different setups till you find a working solution.

Never keep the "not working setups" you will find, Redo a bit different till all good is the Way!
