do we still have to endure the new voices or have they implemented the option to go back to the original voices?

the world is not centered around YOUR experience
It's still broken. For whatever reason, the devs refuse to discuss or acknowledge this at all. The huge thread "Oof Final Cut is a big miss" was recently locked without comment. Also, in a recent thread about the "250 MB update" I briefly had the attention of the someone from ZA/UM but they declined to say anything. Not sure what all the secrecy is about. Maybe we can get the gaming press to ask them about it since they refuse to discuss it with their fans.

what a bunch of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
New voice over is fine.

Regarding of the possibility of player getting old voice over, let me put it this way:

You don't own the game Disco Elysium. You own the license to play ZA/UM products called "Disco Elysium".

This products *can* change/patched/expanded after you bought the license.

Meaning, you are not entitled to get the old voice over, you can go to the media, or better yet, riled up a support and sue them if you have the means, I would love to see that.

That being said, hope that we got the option to switch to old voice over, for the 12 person who want them back. The rest of us do not care, so do not hold your breath, friend.

I'm willing to bet today's announcement has something to do with it. If these internal issues had been brewing for a while, it stands to reason that whatever last tweaks/improvements they may have been working on for Final Cut would probably fall on the backburner.

That's an old myth, you own a copy of a game. The license agreement comes against the law of most of countries, so the only the IP part you can consider. That means that in the most of developed countries you can do whatever you want with your copy of the game, except re-distributing it or stealing artwork/code/writing for your projects.

What is a real legislative oversight is that the game can change through the support so it won't resemble itself, so yeah, the player is unprotected from this side.

I think you're right. We've been wondering why the company refuses to answer any questions on this topic and now I think it's quite likely related to this somehow.

The sailor socialist? She is is not changed though? the only thing that are marginally noticable is that Cuno is far lest obnoxious, everything else is improvement.
While I enjoy the new voice actors, it ruins a few scenes. Like, the narrator kills the moment when you wake up from your black out and start to dance, where only the music made the scene that much more impactful. Also one of the best themes in the game, "The Mercenary Tribunal" is completely drowned out by the constant voice work.
this will never be an option, gonna cry?
The only way is to download an old version of the game, I made a guide on how to achieve this
