Experience and Skill Points

When you have the chance to improve one of your attributes, should you focus on a single area until you’ve maxed it out, or... should you distribute your points evenly—even though you haven’t yet decided which paths interest you most?

You should do whatever you think *you* would do as Harry. Don't worry about min/maxxing, it's not that kind of game.

I will say-- keep a few points in reserve as you go on, see what interests you. There are other ways to raise stats, temporarily and long-term, and because of the way checks work you can unlock failed checks and try them again when you increase the stat in question.

But don't worry too much about optimizing, yeah. It's a better game if you follow your heart.

Thanks for the answers! I’ll try not to overthink it. Besides, I’m more or moins happy with my current build, even if I do happen to fail a few checks in a row
