Welcome all Stock Photographers and Designers.

This community was founded by a few of us who sell our work on stock photography markets.
Anyone interested in getting involved in stock photography is welcome. We are focused more on smaller or mid-range stock photography site = ie: not Corbis or the big sites. If you are interested in getting into stock photography, this is the place to come! If you are a pro or semi-pro, or someone who sells their work online, do feel free to post an introduction. Please try and stay on topic: while its nice to let us know where you sell your work please don't hawk yourself. This community is not really designed for self-promotion, but discussion. Feel free to mention where you sell your work though. :D

Basically this community will discuss most subject centered around stock photos:

- different markets
- what is popular, creative ideas, special interests
- techniques and photoshop tricks
- problems with digital work, rejections, critique
- general discussions about stock photography
- cameras, digital processing
- scanning issues
- market issues, market news, trends
- managing rights
- general questions
- photo critiques (see note below)

This community is not a place to debate the different markets - trash each other - discuss how much you've not making - personal gripes and complaints. Posts of this nature will be removed. If you are finding you would like to discuss something about problems with a particular stock company please keep it professional. Flamers will be set on fire. Any questions or problems .. please see the moderator. Do NOT post advertisments or samples of your work for sale.. but to discuss them.

Think this community needs changes? Is there something you would like to see added to the rules? Let me know:

REGARDING CRITIQUES
You are welcome to post small images and discuss them - what might have been done better - and ASK for a critique. All photos must be linked to your work off site, or in a small discrete size. Please use the LJ Cut tag - place your images inside. Please only include images you are selling for stock - or images that you have had rejected by your stock agency.
Further rules:
- Do not post somebody else's images without their consent! Another way to say this: ONLY INCLUDE YOUR OWN WORK!
- ONLY one image per person per week max - and please no photos like: do you think this is good?
- Please ensure you place a copywrite on your work if possible
- No nude photos or risque photos - this is a community for all ages. Any naked photos will be promptly removed.
